if the issue was licensing a track for use then that would have been sorted by now - if it was going to delay the release by this long, post-premier, they would just use another track - music licensing is not the reason the video hasn't been released.
Its coming out on Thrasher or via them....the same Thrasher that took 4 months to clear the Mason Silva part...2 months to clear the bronze video...the same Thrasher struggling to get the HUF video out...
look I think beatrice's skating is shit just like the next person, but she not the reason this video is delayed...
not saying that beatrice is the reason, just pretty certain its not because of music clearance
any video cannot be considered ready for release if you have not cleared the music, vf would sort this way in advance, and if it was looking like an issue, they would change the track, its simle as that - thrasher have had to do this before for their own content
clearning the music in the vans video is vans' responsibility not thrashers, thrasher is only the host
thrasher handles the music rights for videos hosted on their channels, at least most of the time. I'm not an insider but it has come up in many interviews from many people over the past few years.
The thing about music rights on youtube is if you use music without authorization in a youtube video, the video will almost never get taken down. Instead the video will go up, but the ad revenue from the views will go to the music rights holders. This is done automatically, the computer recognizes the music, notifies the rights holder, and the rights holder gets to choose what to do with it, and typically they choose to keep the video up and collect the ad revenue. Part of this automated process also adds the music and album covers to the description of the video that uses it. Look at Lakai Bubble's youtube description for example. If you look at Thrasher video descriptions on youtube, it never has that. Similarly, the credits at the end of Bubble don't list the music, whereas thrasher's credits do list the music. Thrasher actually relies on their youtube revenue, whereas Lakai is posting this video to promote their brand to sell products for revenue, so they use the platform differently.
