I remember being super tired of him a few years ago - this one didn't bother me, and a lot of the stuff he did was cooler than I remembered.

Also he does some regular impressive skate tricks, which sets him apart from the youtube-generation of wacky tricks that are popular amongst the kids today.

Regardless of his political stance, I thought it was cool that he broke down almost every trick instead of letting the part play without stopping and missing commentary on half or the majority of the part. Not the biggest Richie Jackson fan but he did some really sick tricks in this part.

i do.  it was great.  i like this part too.  as others have said, really like that he explained each trick.  there's a time and place for everything, this is one of those segments where more is better.  Enjoyed it a lot.

I always liked this part a lot, and after not having watched it in probably a decade, I think it's help up fairly well. Some really crazy shit that he did with decent style since he's not purely a circus trick skater. You can see he by the way he skates that he has a decent foundation in "normal" skateboarding.

I dig it, this part in and now was pretty validating for the less talented skaters in the friend group that couldn't really keep up but could get weird.

Everything Richie has put out has always been pretty entertaining, from his youtube street parts filmed with drones to the skate-education school show or whatever the fuck it was called back on the ride channel. Buddy stayed in his lane, took flack for it, and hasn't stopped.

I used to dig his skating. As someone said earlier - it's not purely a carnival feature shitshow, he is a legit good skater when doing regular shit. And it was before this oversaturation of ridiculous skating for the sake of being ridiculous.

Didn't even mind his antics in interviews. It was pretty obvious that it's just a persona he assumed and it was somewhat tongue in cheek. And by all accounts he was a kind dude.

Then, as it often happens, instead of letting his actual self out, he started to become his persona, which got cringey really fast. Although that might have been for the better, since it seems that his real self is a one hundred percent, unadulturated dipshit. There is, like, a .1% chance that his dumbfuckery with trans-hate, Tim Poole etc. is also a part of some act, but in the year of our Lord 2023., it's pretty dumb to share dubious shit on social media and think that any press is good press.

Ontopic - I actually liked that part, even 15 years later, and the commentary was nice, if a bit pretentious, but I just couldn't get past that feeling in the back of my mind that I'm watching a right dipshit and feeling sorry, both for him and myself. I have a hard time separating someone's skating/musical/sport/art ability from them being jerks.

I was a huge fan of Richie, and his Network A show. This part used to get me so hyped that I can forgive him for his embarrassing exchanges with Plunkett, and any right wing kookery. He's unquestionably super intelligent and witty.

Also his Thrasher part with the wet floor sign handslides was so viral that it got all of my non-skating friends interested in skating. It's very cool for there to be a cultural moment like that when I get to share my enthusiasm about skating with absolute novices.
