My one friend Brian was Howard>Carroll and I was the other way. This was Questionable to Goldfish. Carroll was the illest but at some point it switched for me and now Howard’s full body of work just means more to me for some reason.

I was the same- Carroll has legendary style for sure, but Howard had a smooth flow. In the video above he does a line at USC at ~5:50 and just the way he comes out of the fakie front crooks has a certain finesse to it. Those are the details I've always appreciated and what differentiate "really good" vs "great" skating. I'm sure a ton of people could do that line, but at the same time that doesn't mean I'd prefer watching them do it.
