girl 30 year anniversary, 20 years of yeah right, seemed like he’s on good terms with rick & mike after that whole anniversary get together. it makes the most sense to me. fa would be weird, primitive would be too. primitive doesn’t seem like the kind of company to have “legacy” pros on, they’re more about having a clean cut, polished, “elite” current top tier pro team, even franky villani getting on seemed off. april could work but wouldn’t really be exciting at all. if not girl then put him on grimple stix, at least until he gets fully on something kind of like how they did with evan smith.
[close]

The frank villani scoop by primitive was extremely smart. Franky puts the brand in front of so many other people that wouldn't even consider looking at a primitive deck.

Girl would be awesome. Id say he'd pick april over primitive though if it came down to those two.
no i agree that he was a sick addition, i am just saying that most of us found it to be a weird fit initially just because he is such a different type of skateboarder than the rest of the team & the demographic of who the brand applies to.

Girl seems cheap. Like when he went to Nike. Primitive feels strange like he’d be the odd man out on that roster. Same with April. Would love to see him on Krooked.

Where tf is that April Guy part btw?
how does girl seem cheap? the cheap part about going to nike was leaving lakai (crail) & all of his friends after a short stint there from leaving es’ when he was one of the main parts of that brand. girl makes sense and would be nostalgic/cool imo.

you guys are nuts if you don’t think p-rod would jump at the opportunity to sponsor koston, one of his all-time favorites. shane too, probably… but definitely paul
nobody’s thinks p-rod wouldn’t want to do that, it’s more on wondering if koston would. i’m sure that he would be stoked on the check & he obviously is cool with dudes on the brand it just doesn’t seem to fit. if bastien wasn’t active enough for the legacy type roll then why would koston be? again i just don’t think the brand is looking for “legacy riders”.

Whoever said Jack Curtin should be on Alltimers is onto something.

If Aesthetics is coming back, Jack should be the headliner
this is a great idea.

I would love to see a new brand out of Girl that’s run by Koston and McCrank. Those two working together has been magical in past projects like Menikmati and Yeah Right.
this is a great idea as well. if they moved breanna onto this brand, grabbed dustin henry from alltimers & durao that would be great. also just throw jack & plunkett on and you have the start to a great team/brand.

imagine fucking the dog shit outta chris roberts

Koston and Yuto.
Money for the project built into the Nike contracts, but fully controlled by those two.
Distributed by the Crail.

Koston wouldn’t go to primitive because they put out videos that he’d be obligated to film/try for. That said after going back to his chronicles 3 part, it’s not nearly what I remembered it being.

A little wild to think of telling Fully Flared era Koston and Mariano that in 15 years their board sponsor will not be Crailtap but instead a quiet Austrailian kid who is am on Fourstar

Not to split hairs but at that time I think Shane might have still been flow.

Lol. Eldee is definitely a human. He’s like a raider on horse back who’s kinda scared to do battle. Somehow he closes his eyes and swings his sword wildly and wakes up in a pile of dead orcs.

Roger Bagley just posted on his story a “Koston is Back” deck at the Girl party. Not sure if it’s a new or old graphic. Anyone have more insight? Sorry, still don’t know how to post screenshots.

Why would Koston start funding his friends joke board company with its best days behind it? I always assumed Nike was putting money towards it like when they told Trevor Colden to leave Mystery for SM. Hell Staba was on Savier so he knows a thing or 2 about Nike shadow companies

The biggest sportswear brand in the world go funding one of the shittest board brands out there? 😂 for the record, it’s not or ever has been true. Although Nike SB sports marketing are behind most sponsor moves for their team, mostly to try and boost the profiles of their skateboarders, especially in places like Australia and Europe there’s no interest in doing hardware, the heads behind SB are generally skateboarders and know way better than that.

Koston should always have a pro board in the marketplace! His impact on skateboarding isn’t ever going to be replicated, and if you deem this as wrong then are you gonna knit pick at every other skateboarder over the age of 44 who shifted the needle that still has a place on a board brand? Arto? Geoff? Penny? Lance? Gonz? I hope Koston lands somewhere worthy of him.

Solid! I disagree to some degree, but it is right that generationally there should be space given for the future of skateboarding. But that said I do think there are gatekeepers and Koston for sure is one of them! And there’s certainly more in between that are holding on that should gracefully bow down!

I’ve already stated this extremely unpopular opinion, but I do think it’s pretty wack when dudes who have no interest in pushing themselves or skating professionally, continue to give themselves or accept pro boards, ie: like half the Crail roster.

Shit, at least Gonz is still charging and putting his body on the line.  And I know the argument is that legendary pros who greatly influenced skating deserve it, the same way Jordan still sells jerseys.. but there’s a big difference between the influence and contributions of Michael fucking Jordan, and most of these dudes in their 40s who were the shit for a 5-10 year span in the 90s.

Koston deserves to hang on for as long as he wants.    What’s the difference between his goofing around on a board and Gonz’s?    Koston was the top of the game for like 25 years when others spent plenty of time taking it easy.    He’s entitled to not have to be innovating at 45+

The crazy thing is he’s still doing some standout tricks when you do see a clip these days. He’s out here doing switch wallie 5050s on little hubbas and still occasionally skating stairs switch at 48 . That seems pretty deserving of a board to me .
