FA cornball activity

Dillís goofy ass at it again with his typical kook shit. Blatantly stealing a comic artists work with no intention of paying them. Literal copy and paste shit too. And dropping the Dylan photo board with no intention of donating the proceeds to the foundation. Just trying to line his pockets off Dylanís name.

Me: I found skate Jesus.

Slap: Yeah, well maybe if he does the crucifix switch I will believe it.

I think the dylan board is fine. Heís their friend, whatever.

The blatant copying is pretty rough though. Thatís almost an exact replica

Iíve definitely never seen a brand copy and paste artwork/photos before this is big news.
Can someone explain in Fortnite terms?

Yup, but I think the issue is whether itís altered in anyway or just a cut and paste job.   Andrew Allen has a famous sweet heart of the rodeo deck out and they changed it by putting her on a crucifix (for some reason)

I had a moment awhile back. I knew I was getting old/am old.

There were some teens skating the indoor last winter. one of them had on oversized baggy FA sweatpants, with the Fucking Awesome logo printed all over them, and I think they were yellow?

It was the goofiest looking shit I'd seen in a long while.

But...the cycle continues I suppose.

When was the last time Reynolds put out a chintzy hat with stolen artwork and marketed it with Terry Richardson-style flash photography?

Yeah, that is definitely weird. Worth noting, however, that the original is from a Jo Mora pictorial map. Dunno if his estate ever received money from the Byrds.

this isn't really surprising for FA because their whole aesthetic is cut and paste collage style, which admittedly i appreciate at times, but this isn't public domain or some old photo with unknown origin. i would hope FA reached out to paul kirchner and worked something out, but i would assume not. i remember i got an FA sticker years ago that was straight up just the art from robert williams' appetite for destruction cover. i know it's kind of a grey area in skateboarding because parodies and homages are so commonplace, but jacking art like that is just so lame and lazy, especially for a big company like FA.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Fucking Awesome. The graphics are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of basic art studies the graphics will go over a typical skater's head. There's also Dill's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these graphics, to realize that they're not just cool- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Fucking Awesome truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the beauty in Fucking Awesomeís existential skate film "Randy Farkus" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Aidan Mackey's genius unfolds itself on their computer screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Fucking Awesome tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

So just nobodyís gonna talk about this guy making a gimmick account where he responds in character as a dude from the tv show Yellowstone? This is arguably worse than bardcore. Your stone (brain) must be yellow (jaundiced) if you gnar this dude

I definitely see the nuance in it, just as corny as FA has gotten over the years some people are wayyy too eager to find any and everything to nitpick that many other companies do. In a perfect world they actually did reach out and get permission to use this.
