i liked that story in concrete powder about how some anglos were visiting a montreal restaurant with a bunch of quebecois skaters, and they wanted to leave but one guy kept saying they couldnt leave the place because he was still 'angry...   they couldnt figure out why he was angry, and when they asked him he didnt seem to want to tell them why...   then they figured otu he was still 'hungry'.

As shitty as service may be, it's so hard to leave one of those diners when you are so angry.

As a portuguese immigrant I can tell you the french aren't alone when it comes to butching english. Words are used interchangably and new words are made up all the time. Something as simple as adding a syllable to a word can have quite an effect. Like one time at dinner, when my dad was digging into seconds, I told him to cut down on his meat intake. His response? " I'm no goddamn veginatarian!" What's that dad, you don't eat pussy?

I got honked at while sitting on a red light trying to take a photo of the sign. Totally worth it.
