I would love to be proven wrong … but this will suck!

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year

Are there any skaters hippie enough, besides maybe Evan Smith, that would fit the Ipath aesthetic of old?

Would be rad if this didn't suck. I had multiple pairs of the hemp Crickets back in the day.  They were a great skate shoe.

Once a week this dude I work with says with his subtle southern drawl, "Man, when're they gonna do an Ipath re-boot?"

Well, Kenneth, maybe....just maybe

Ipath can either go with their Fred Gall Bobby Puleo vibe or the Rastafarian Halloween wig vibe. A true Jekyll and Hyde. I fear the corporate blood lust for Rasta hemp, rather than the thought of re-immersion into the underground/core skate scene they once successfully inhabited, may be the impetus for 2-Path.

The white trustafarian with dreads movment has really taken off the last few years so they might actually have a good amount of support. Especially considering the 5-8% their parents investment funds have been kicking off these last couple years. Jah bless the jobless

I’m going George Michael on this and maintaining some faith, but only because Ipath was my favorite skate related company of all time.

Quality and materials are gonna be key. The classic designs don’t need any altering.
Do you get deja vu, huh?

It will be a zombie brand, the creatives that made it what it was are gone. The time is different.  Ostalgia can fill some gaps but once we get a peek behind the curtain it’s over. The team will
Be full of young contest/vert groms and a more tech shoe range will emerge. Just let something great stay dead, every incarnation after the og just got a little worse.

That happened back in 2011, though: you reckon these same bouls still own that shiz & have just been sitting on it for over a decade?
Amusing to me that the the portfolio company would be called Klone Lab & that seems to be what these new owners (whoever that may be) are trying to do.
More accurate branding would probably be Necro Factory or Zombie Farm, but Klone Lab works for me.

I went to the VC site, and yes they are still sitting on it.  It looks like that Klone labs is making new balance pool slides.
I always found these types of VC acquisitions very confusing, feels like some creepy dude like Gary Vee trying to basically pull a Kendall roy "how dope are these kicks" move.
