The other day this homeless dude sat down on the ledge of this newish diy spot to watch my homie and I skate. He pulled up his pants and started shaving his legs. Not the worst thing right? Then my homie pointed out that the dude was shaving huge scabs off his legs…. They were completely covered in scabs at first and this dude took 30 minutes shaving them all off.

It was partly because of hanging my bloard on my forearms and pressing the bloard against my chest.

That in combination with wearing sweaty skate clothes day after day with out washing them I was infested with heebie-jeebies aka the vert bug.

Since I've stopped doing that I've been able to manage to chill that shit.

If I do chose to grab a tank top out the laundry basket and I don't immediately wash as soon as I'm done exercising it comes back.

Working the town skatepark someone somehow took an inhuman sized shit inside the locked supply shed. 

The circumference of this behemoth log was much wider than a Pringle’s can, and well over a foot long with a proper pinched off end. It was as impressive as it was gross, and I can’t comprehend how something so big could be produced by a human asshole.

once went down a drainage ditch i hit pretty often but it was winter, so still full of all the snow/mud/trash sludge that accumulates. board rolled over a slick spot and dropped me into said runoff/trash sludge, was wearing a white shirt that day and it got on my whole side.

dishonorable mentions include:
-vape hidden underneath the bottom of a light pole at my local near the hidden wax supply, every opening stuffed with an unidentifiable greasy, cheeselike substance
-a number of dead birds
-in the same ditch mentioned before, a dead cat solidified into the position it had died in, visibly decomposed eyes

I had my first board shoot underneath a dumpster behind a restaurant. I went to retrieve it and the entirety of the shadow of the dumpster was inhabited by wriggling maggots and my board was in the middle of it.

Edit: I didn't really come into contact with it, but I remember going to Aala park fairly early one Saturday morning to find the cops pulling a body out of the nearby river.

I used to skate in The Netherlands/German/Belgian border area which had quite the prostitution/drugproblem in the late 90's ... (still does).

Some great skatespots were also the spots where women would come to "work". Mostly because the spots were just out the city and not that crowded ... under bridges, ditches etc.

Stuff we used to find:
- Used condoms (tons of them, we needed a shovel to clean them out)
- Used heroin needles
- Crack pipes
- Used sanitarypads and tampons (probably from women that walked the streets and needed to get rid of them quite fast)
- A weird bucket that had a mixed pile of painted nails, old eggs and cigarettes in it
- Dentures with feces all over them
- Human feces and used toiletpaper in general
- A gold tooth (pawned it)
- "A slime bucket" which was fileld with yellowish/greenish goo... after a while we learned this was drugs related.
 It was mucus that ran out of junkies' noses > glue/ether sniffers ...
- Dead rats covered in maggots

And I was not sure if I was ever going to tell this:
Once we caught a guy while he was raping a girl that was either mentally challenged or completely high on drugs. We used to see that guy around quite often, because he lived very close to us. He was always cool ... so we were baffled.

The girl didn't say anything, but she gave us a look that said she was NOT into it at all, so alarmbells went off immediately.

We called the cops while we covered the girl up, held the guy until the cops came ... They took both of them and we never saw him or the girl ever again.

A few weeks later we were skating the same spot again and the cops came. We thought we were getting fined, but they came over to thank us. We found out that it was the dude's sister, she was underage (15) and that she was indeed mentally challenged ...

That scene never left my mind and I'm still disgusted by it.

i have seen damn near everything in this thread while skating :s the druggie stuff has gotten really out of hand because before i used to only see it in like Montreal / big cities in europe kind of thing but now its overtaken even the small towns here in canada.

one time i was waiting for my bus in prague and didnt feel like using the pay toilets so i went down these stairs thinking this looks like a great spot to piss... before i realized it i was in this fucked up needle infested area with piles of human shit everywhere, easily most foul thing i have ever seen in my life. random brand new timberland boot in the middle of the ground and shit like that

there is a skater from Ontario who i have been a huge fan of for a long time and some of my friends know him. he said that one time he was skating somewhere in a big city somewhere kinda dirty i guess and then didnt wash his hands before eating mcdonalds... then got sick for like 6 months!! that story made me more on point with trying to sanitize before eating always.

I've gotten into the habit of wiping my board down with disinfecting wipes after pushing through the city (shout out to Andy T for the Lysol inspiration). Bleach + water spray for the grip helps get into the grooves.

Who would have thought a lack of public restroom facilities, increasing homelessness, and a drug overdose problem would cause the streets to contain all sorts of foul substances?

Honestly, if anyone has access to a lab where you could analyze the contents of a q-tip after it was swabbed on a board, I'd be down to participate in that research.

Hand sanitizer spray and a napkin can save the day if you happen to roll through some weirdness.

im from st.louis so the shit yall say is the worst is like a guaranteed find whilst street skating. i once rolled over a used jimmy and it fucking went over the wheel and had to peel that junt off my wheel with a wad of tp. horrible. usually see used needles at the diy or just ODed homeless people. thats more sad than gross but still sometimes theyve been there for a min and smell bad and you gotta call the cops.

I am from about 20 minutes from SF, so I cannot count how many times I have skated any random spot or hill in the City. An everyday occurrence would be bum/junkie shit, which usually is extremely liquidy, which always made me wonder because heroin users problem is constipation 😅. Anyways, about 2010, there were these ledges under the I80 overpass, they were just the concrete foundations under the overpass that the metal beams went into. Adrian Williams has a lot of footage there if you are interested. There were a few of them in a row. Anyways, they were kinda tall, I found a lower ledge that was waxed up so I was excited. This has happened other times, but this was the closest I have fallen right next to an open used rig, like i stumbled and my hand that hit the ground to catch my fall was within like 2 inches of it, maybe closer. If I got stuck, hopefully nothing would come out of it, but it would drive me crazy thinking what I could of possibly contracted as I have a lot of anxiety/stress/ocd and my cousin told me that her mother, my aunt caught hep C, she wasn't an addict, but apparently had horrible luck shooting up 1 time ever, so I always remember that too.
