1. Skating street in Rio de Janeiro - wich was pretty awesome. At one spot there was some pilled out guy lying on the floor.
Manny people passing by - nobody gave a shit. I skated that spot on the way to the next spot and was coming back early l end skeptical and checking on him - and realized that he was dead at least the full day. And nobody cared. Which was really cross for me as an European.

2. lived near a bridge spot which had a nice 3Stairs and Leges you coud skate while raining. But one part was occoupied
by the local Pigeon population, and the floor there was covered completely  5-6 cm with birdshot. If you skate the ledge you coud keep distance - but If you bail something down the 3 stairs - the board coud run fully into the  huge shit puddle.
We try to collet card boards before the puddle so the board was not rolling into it - or we can at leasts jump from card board playing the earth is bird shit. I am defiantly no hypochondriac - but skating that place felt wirred and unhealthy.

3. As a kid we where skating through the full village - and there was one old gentleman always in a suit with hat and walking stick -pretty classic style -but super overweighted. He was a known guy in town in his late 70s everyone called him Fat Eric.
Since he was walking the full day through the village - we meet him here and there. Sometimes he make a break and was watching us kids playing with our boards. Once he was sitting side by side with us on a bench and he was rolling up his trouser to scratch his leg. And we coud see maggots moving under the skin.
May they  where the reason he was moving the full day - but for me back then this was maximum disgusting.

4. there was the next village with some nice streetspot at the trainstation - if we want to go there - we had a downhill for 4-5 kilometer - which was very great. The area in general was little bit rural  in between two bigger cities and was very much hills / forest / nice views. So Motor bikers from both towns used our region as a destination for hitting the winding roads.
Every summer at lease once we have seen a Motor cycler who did make it down the hill. Once we where arriving skating downhill before the police /  emergency arrived - the guy was splattered all over the road and his friend was on the knees on the side of the road green in his face and puking

I used to skate in The Netherlands/German/Belgian border area which had quite the prostitution/drugproblem in the late 90's ... (still does).

Some great skatespots were also the spots where women would come to "work". Mostly because the spots were just out the city and not that crowded ... under bridges, ditches etc.

Stuff we used to find:
- Used condoms (tons of them, we needed a shovel to clean them out)
- Used heroin needles
- Crack pipes
- Used sanitarypads and tampons (probably from women that walked the streets and needed to get rid of them quite fast)
- A weird bucket that had a mixed pile of painted nails, old eggs and cigarettes in it
- Dentures with feces all over them
- Human feces and used toiletpaper in general
- A gold tooth (pawned it)
- "A slime bucket" which was fileld with yellowish/greenish goo... after a while we learned this was drugs related.
It was mucus that ran out of junkies' noses > glue/ether sniffers ...
- Dead rats covered in maggots

And I was not sure if I was ever going to tell this:
Once we caught a guy while he was raping a girl that was either mentally challenged or completely high on drugs. We used to see that guy around quite often, because he lived very close to us. He was always cool ... so we were baffled.

The girl didn't say anything, but she gave us a look that said she was NOT into it at all, so alarmbells went off immediately.

We called the cops while we covered the girl up, held the guy until the cops came ... They took both of them and we never saw him or the girl ever again.

A few weeks later we were skating the same spot again and the cops came. We thought we were getting fined, but they came over to thank us. We found out that it was the dude's sister, she was underage (15) and that she was indeed mentally challenged ...

That scene never left my mind and I'm still disgusted by it.

Looks like we grown up in a similar time / environment. Luckily my local skatespots where not drug infected.
But I know exactly what you are talking about - spots outside the city / under bridges you can skate yourself with no hassle - but having a piss in the bushes is boarderline danger.

I fell into the LA River with open wounds, I’ve had bad dry skin/eczema ever since.
I had recently split my temple on a sidewalk in LA so I had to get a tetanus shot then, probably spared me a few other health issues thanks to that.
That reminds me of the time we were skating downtown San Jose. The Gaudelupe river runs through all of the area, and there are a ton of spots littered along the river/walking path that goes a long way through SJ. Gaudelupe is similar to the LA River, Gaudelupe is physically not as big, but just as polluted. Anyways, my board fell into the little river, my friend got down to just his boxers and got my board out. Right after he gets out, he's got a huge gash on the bottom of his foot, probably from glass. We just went to Safeway and got bandages, I'll ask him today if he ever got a tetanus shot for it, I doubt it.

Damn dude im sorry you witnessed half of this shit omg

Lol. Eldee is definitely a human. He’s like a raider on horse back who’s kinda scared to do battle. Somehow he closes his eyes and swings his sword wildly and wakes up in a pile of dead orcs.

I’ve ran into dog shit a handful of times. Had to find dirt/mud to scrape it off and get rid of the smell.

Also, in life, meeting with fake people grosses me out

I didn't exactly grow up "poor", but as a teenager I definitely had some scavenger tendencies. Anyways, one day were skating at the spot and I notice a Coke can on the ground in the parking lot. I'd been skating all day with no liquids and was like, fuck it, I'll drink that. Took a giant swig and it was not Coke... it was piss.

That’s a good one too. Coud happend to me too since I am napping in the car regularly😂

Don’t know where you come from, but for an European Brasil is pretty tough. But mostly the poverty of kids on the street is heartbreaking. Was two month in Rio de Janeiro and it was a great time, with lovely people and best sessions.
Just had the oldest short, shirt and vans - but every skater knows i am an tourist because I had US shoes and board.

Yep, correct.

I had a girlfriend in Heerlen back then, and it was terrible. The rest was in Maastricht, Aachen and Luik. Luik was absolutely insane when it comes to drugs and prostitution ...

Maastricht was awesome, but only during the day. At night you had to watch out there. I saw that the small park is still there!

The abuse of the girl was actually very close to home and I still feel bad that I didn't do more that day. But I was a skinny 17 year ild kid back then :'(
