Maybe $5 if in note form. Provided I can see it's ok to touch, I could just wash it in the sink right away (money is waterproof here) and just spend it right away.
How much in coins is where it gets tricky, it could be $20 worth of $2 coins and I prob still wouldn't really want to try pick them up
Smart. I didn't think of being able to just wash it in the sink, especially if it is Canada and where we have our plastic money.
Also, I think there is the question in what range of value would you try to find the owner? I feel, in general, losing coins is just normal day to day life and there is zero moral obligation to find the owner, but once we get to 10 dollars then this is outside the norm and may affect the owner. But, finding a 100 on the ground might be enough reward to completely ignore the plight of the original owner.
P.S. I remember I had to buy my first powerful computer with cash, because my credit card limit didn't go high enough to buy it w/my card. It was more money than I had ever seen in one place before ($2,700). I walked with my hand on my money from the bank to the Apple store since I was so paranoid that it might fall out of my pocket.
