Awesome architecture and spots, and some nice skating. The tricks at the white ledge/banks toward the beginning were so good.

Magenta is low key going hard as hell this year. Was glad to see some Jeremy Jones footage! He is a favorite of mine and it's nice to see come dope clips from him. Mike Mag has also became a favorite of mine and I love his approach and style!

damn that brought back memories. We used to skate those colored sculptures in La Défense way back in the 80's (at 01'02). Also that spot around the big buildings with clouds painted on them, that's in Nanterre if I remember right. The NTM and Lunatic tracks at the end made this even more nostalgic for me (those songs are over 20 years old).

anyways enough reminiscing, that was really dope. Will rewatch for sure! there are so many hidden spots in the projects around Paris it's crazy.... bravo Magenta for exploring!
this also reminded me of that Fishing Lines part by Michael Mackrodt.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCIaAfA_M5c

edit: not everything in the Magenta vid is in the Paris area, but the majory I believe. for instance the white banks/ledges are in Bordeaux I think....can anybody confirm?

What's Jameel Douglas' shoe sponsor? Does anyone know? I like the Black/gum ones he's wearing in the first clip

merci ! for people not familiar with France politics, Nanterre is where the riots started this year.
and that's the other side of the coin with a lof the amazing spots built in the projects.....not always safe, especially if you want to film and hang around with a camera. I remember there was this amazing bowl in Evreux, built in the 90's, so at at time when there were basically no concrete parks in France except for Marseille or Montpellier....But it's right in the middle of the local projects. So that spot was there never in any video, photo, nothing. I went there a few times, we never had trouble, but it was always abandoned. No local skaters and sometimes there would be the carcass of a burnt moped in one of the bowls or an old shopping cart....see pic below....that place was super fun to carve around in.

yup. Basically that place could have become as famous as the Marseille bowl, it's almost as good. and built around the same time. But since it's in a real shitty neighborhood.....instead of on the beach   :P

Yeah - that trick is burned inside my brain! Awesome to see all of that footage there! I'd love to be able to skate a spot like that but I imagine I'd get there and those banks would be impossible for me to do anything on. Still looks amazing.

Of course. Big Situationist „fan“ - who could have guessed? Hahaha.
What’s wrong with Évreux and Normandie? I like it more than the eastern part of the Bretagne (st. Malo, dinan - except Rennes).

That was during an èS tour in France. I joined their session litterally 2 min after he did that trick. I was bummed. Sarmiento killed it on that day, as expected.
Those banks are pretty slippery.

Lovely skating, but really respect that the crew looks to be genuinely hanging with the locals and entertaining the kids. As @OldieButFrenchie said, a lot of these brutalist apartment blocks are usually the projects, tucked away from the city centres and typically poorer and generally rougher. I think it goes a long way when a crew rolls into a place like these, and also takes time to interact with whoever lives there.

yup! You don't wanna go all "hellride!" in a lot of these places. French projects are usually not as bad as American ones but still.

also @yghartsyrt : Normandy is a nice place but..... it's just that I've been living in Belgium for a long time now, so whenever I go back to France I'd rather get some nice weather somewhere more to the south!

Ah ok. Gotcha. In that case I’d also prefer some other place as the Normandy.

Haven't watched that video yet but I always enjoy Magenta's output. When there will be the time I can go skate again, this will be the video to watch for me.

Maybe the week before christmas. Wish me luck pals.
