Looks like Cory Long is now with Sorel as President, and Michael Minter went over to Reef as Chief Marketing Officer. I gotta be honest, DC was in the hole years ago before they really started doing these retros the right way and really dedicating a lot of focus on refining their product. I hated DC like any kid growing up in the mid 00s/early 10s, when Court Graffiks were the calling card of non-skater white trash d-bags, when Dyrdek was plastered on MTV 24/7, but their output in the last three years won me over. I really don't think this is going to go well, considering their other holdings. Reebok is still dogshit two years after acquisition, Airwalk resorted to selling $20 shoes at Forever 21, Vision Streetwear is atrocious, Barney's NY doesn't even exist as a company, Brooks Brothers has no vision. I mean this company is literally owned by Blackrock. Shady as fuck. Sad times.

Yup, hate to see it, especially to someone who was there since day one, but it's the sad truth with big buyouts like this. I also wonder how long Kalis has left with his current contract. He seems to be doing well looking at his insta but he's in the same frame as DWay, loyal to the end?

Good post. Yeah, they were coming back and I believe that was because Damon Way rejoined the company and was realigning their strategy in the right direction. But Danny Way being cut seems like a telltale sign that this time around, they're done.

From an investor/buyout standpoint… paying dudes to not put out footage* for over a decade doesn’t make sense.

*yeah they had that old footage drop from that Hawaii ramp but aside from that, what are they getting paid to do? The dudes buying/skating Lynxes would be regardless of Danny Way, hate to say it.

heard ABG announced to cut all team categories to 1-2 riders each when they acquired boardriders. You can already see it with RVCA only keeping Curren and Spanky. Also heard DC wouldn't have as drastic of cuts but would still have cuts nonetheless

they’re not turning DC into a workwear brand, authentic just licensed out the rights to a side company to make workwear boots with DC branding. This is aside from the company that DC is supposed to be licensed out to
