Carlyle has so much gnarly stuff, they should have gone for some of his Paris footy at that crusty bank at the Canal St. Martin, that would have been a nice cover. Anyway stoked for Jeff to get the cover, dude is one of the best out there.
why come?

Life is too short to be angry at the Shrimp Blunt intro

Like others have mentioned Thrasher usually tries to take the best photo, rather than the hardest trick for their cover. I remember that for Ishod's SOTY cover they had a beautiful shot of a perfectly done no comply wall bash.
A few times they went with the hardest trick rather than the best photo. Remember Jamie Foy's front crook el torro cover? It looked like he was doing a 50-50 grind. People really complained about the cover then.

Anyway, my first reaction to the Jeff Carlyle cover was: "Wow that's beautiful shot of a rad trick!". I back the policy of choosing the raddest picture over the most outstanding trick.

Carlyle has one of the meanest stare downs behind Val Bauer. Iím sure heís an alright guy

Been looking at this cover and thread for a while. The image doesnít hold up when compared to the caliber of covers recently. He looks static on the obstacle. Not dynamic enough. I donít like how the obstacle also ends at the right of the frame. Makes the obstacle and trick look weighted and contained. It doesnít flow.   I could see why someone thinks this is a good photo, which it is, but it just doesnít have that oomph of drama weíve been accustomed to. Reminds me of mid 00s covers of x pro sliding down a background of stairs. Definitely skateboarding but forgettable.

Anyway hope vans or someone pays the guy heís good

nothing's been the since same

I think itís sick. It makes me want to go skate which is the most important part of skate media in my opinion. I love weird switch tricks like switch pole jams and switch wallrides/wallies.

Ethan Loys boardslide on a plane, or Joey Pepper wallride were way more cover worthy in my opinion.

The reason the photo is underwhelming is because it looks like it could be posed.  No sense of momentum/movement

Rad, thatís at a target in Huntington Beach. Iíve seen that for years but thereís no runway and thereís no other time to do that then really late at night. Looks like anythingís possible.

I'm a fan of this guy and its a good photo but honestly would rather see a photo of him mid-speed wobble on the cover?

Has there ever been a hill bomb cover?

hell yeah babe

Skateboarding, aka going downhill laying on a souped-up 2x4 in full motorbiker cosplay. I'm by no means a Phelps fan but I'm starting to think it's a good thing he took over not too long after this cover.
