I remember reading that Evan Hernandez had gone down for drug dealing and money laundering but it seems from Instagram that he is out and about in South America.

Anyone one know what the story is?

I think you're right. I remember someone saying in an interview that he went down for dealing drugs and laundering money. However, evidently he’s running around in South America right now.
