For someone coming from russia to france to get a work permit and be able to set up a company and become the status of a tax paying citizen, the process has so many hurdles and takes a suuper long time and in a lot of cases is basically impossible.

So the thought that they are propably still russian citizens making use of some visa loopholes or therelike is more realistic than them being parisians now.

And no, you can be outspoken against the war without consequences or getting prosecuted immediately or at all. Depends on what route you take there and how public you are about it. There is nuances.

Like I said the issue is NOT them being russian citizens. As if it is their fault where they were born.

The issue for me IS that the company Rassvet and its profit taxes, when registered or being set up in Russia and the owners taxes if they are registered in Russia go straight into Putins ban account, supporting his agenda - no matter how much the team speaks out against the war on ukraine and so on.
And thats scary for my friends, for countries in the proximity and so on.

It's weird because I feel they are all a small group of friends, like a local homie brand, and a lot of the tricks of the video feel like a local brand yet they always had a strong visual identity, are backed by CDG (I may be wrong on that one), have Austyn Gillette on the team, and are on the high end of skateboarding soft good prices.
I think this is what makes it feel like it's a bit pretentious for some people yet for me it sounds like some guys who love skateboarding had a good opportunity to do their thing with their homies and did it without trying to be the most elite brand of the industry.
