Chase trying those bonk/manny tricks was super fun to watch, that slam looked insane.

Also, the switch ollie into the bank was bananas!

Doing three different straight switch ollie variations is corny as fuck. He'll probably do that all the rounds.

The first two games ended by a switch manual...

I'm sure everyone can agree that doing the same trick on different obstacles is fucking lame.

Poop squat goat just coasting on 180s and switch ollies.

Chase made it more fun to watch than it should have been. It arguably should have been game too at the statue drop-in but Bastien accepted the Baker-maker. Not sure why he tried to finish him on a euro/stepup 180 on the 3 block when he could have just done some backside ledge trick or some funky little thing no one would normally do in a game like he had been doing before. At least he made it entertaining skating by the seat of his pants as opposed to the focused breathing contest mode preying on weakness Venice jock style skateboarding that Sanders displayed.

And at least no one did any flat-ground tricks in the 2nd game! That shit is unforgivable at a perfect plaza spot.

Berriuma darkmen behind the camera gave Bastien the signal to let it slide.

I know I know, fuck the Berrics and Cariuma, but I’m sure these games will at least provide some entertainment/shit-talk material.

Round 1: Cepeda vs. Caro

Holy fucking shit The editing on this made me wanna go run for a knife and gouge my eyes out. Why the fuck do we need Bastian to give us a history on the most famous skate spots/plaza in the world? We know this already about this spot you idiots. It’s famous. and why do we need them to state the trick beforehand. It’s not like he’s going to do a back smith on a ledge and then his opponent is going to go, “hmmm I think he might have actually been trying a bs nose blunt”

dilo needs to mix it up some more, seems against the spirit of the rules to basically choose the same obstacle over and over

Dilo a little scummy with the repeated obstacles but that nollie pop of his is insane especially the nose manual nollie flip out.

I think past iterations had the rule where you couldn't use the same obstacle twice in a row, or having to use the special obstacle once per game (table, hydrant) but they just said fuck it this year.

Why is the picnic table considered a required object?  They used to have a forced advertisement object but it hardly even has stickers now so I just don't get it

I skated sidewalks almost exclusively in my most active years, since my small town had no proper street spots or skateparks and it is easier for me than skating perfect  straight manual blocks and carving frontside is extremely easy.

Bastien adds nothing to this. He doesn't even enforce the rules.

I'm probably in the minority with this opinion but flat ground tricks should be banned too.

Nollie bs 180 nosegrind is a cool trick though

Even in a video chock full of Berries and Cariuma shoved in our faces, Bastien ends up being the worst thing about this edition of the contest.

How tf was Lucero not even able to get into that basic back tail at the end after throwing down all those crazy tech tricks through the rest of the game.

I clicked through the first one.

My friends and I used to play park skate, I always thought that this would be cooler than just a regular game of skate on flat... The Berrics has proved me wrong. Even at MACBA it was boring.

I do like that--honoring Steve Berra tradition in fake spotism--they brought out that fake little picnic table.
