I'd heard a good amount of these stories before but nice to see them all in one feature.Ian actually didn't mention that because of the timing of Mindfield and MPP's release, they actually gave Greg Hunt an advance of the record to edit with, which is considerable enough with how it later became the group's top-selling/most popular record.Never met Noah but David is super nice and had a friend that had great things to say about meeting Josh.
as a side note, has anyone hear ever been on the Collected Animals forum? i miss the underground lair
Panda released it on his twitter in 2020. Besides that there are no other known anco songs that feature skates sounds prominently. I thought of Avey's Saturdays (again) but upon close listen it sounds more like a herd of cowbells. They do have a thrasher interview from sometime in 2021 where they briefly mention recording skate sounds

I thought that was true. I actually remember reading an SLAP article online maybe after MindField was released with Animal Collective. I was in the 6th grade. This part & record will always be so special to me.

The Mindfield thread was my first time coming on Slap! I was an excited teenager who pre-ordered the DVD and was looking for any scraps of info I could find about it, I remember when it finally came Jake’s part easily hit the hardest, in big part to the song. to this day they are one of my favorite bands and I’ve seen them live many times.
