I think the question here is would you rather be part of a left-wing authoritarian society or a right-wing authoritarian society?

No authoritarian government is going to be good, but I'd much live in a left wing authoritarian society. Even if the society doesn't live up to its ideals, it at least rests upon a foundation that states all humans are equal, deserve rights, deserve necessities, and so on. In theory, everyone has a chance to succeed in this society.

I cannot even imagine supporting a system that starts with the foundational belief that people are unequal and not all people deserve rights. A society built on the notion of a natural hierarchy and hatred of others guarantees that many people will have no chance to succeed in this society. Hell, those not in power are always at risk of extermination because their (incorrect) religion, color, etc. has marked them as less than human. A fascist society starts primed for genocide.

I don't want either. I want the whole world to give up violence. That's basically it.

What I want has no name and hasn't ever really existed. Spain almost pulled it. But the capitalist/communist/fascist/monarchist teamed up and smashed it to dust.

I've thought about it a lot. I don't wanna go backwards in time to their perceived golden age. I believe it's impossible. But they got the directions in their lil manifestos and won't be swayed from repeating past mistakes.

I don't romanticize anything except hills to come.
