Need recommendations for a new helmet.
« on: March 06, 2024, 01:08:16 PM »
I landed on my head about 5 days ago or so and even though I was wearing a helmet, it hurt. I saw a bright light as my head smacked the pavement and knocked out for a few seconds and got back up skating again. But I don't want to have that happen again because I don't want to go full retardation.

I am looking for the most protective helmet I can get that is made for skateboarding. I was looking through Amazon and there were plenty of helmets but what about you guys? What do you recommend? Thanks!

I didn't read the inside of the helmet until that fall. Here's what the Pro Tec helmet I was wearing said,

I've had POC, Bern, and Thousand certified multi-impact helmets. All were good and comfortable. The Bern is probably my favorite.
Sounds like you want ASTM certified and probably also MIPS.

Edit: protec makes a certified helmet too but it's definitely meant to fit a round head.

Thanks mate, I just looked up Bern and after viewing some customer reviews and photos on Amazon, I decided to get one asap.

Same.

Here I am in a baby blue Lifer... (bad color choice, black/ white only from here on out)

Might also get a Full Cut Lifer at some point. They look silly but Full Cuts are nice in winter and I feel I can hide myself better.
