hot weather footwear
« on: March 17, 2024, 07:53:34 PM »

Came across some anti-ankle-sock and anti-flip-flop sentiment, and it got me thinking: it seems like there are lots and lots of bad shorts/socks/shoes combinations and very few good ones.

What combo are you rocking a 90 degree day?

If you get hot feet and can stomach them, the Nyjah 3 is easily the most ventilated shoe out there (and yet still offers support and skatability...I mean he does skate better than us all, right?); I'm waiting on some sales to grab a couple pairs for summer.

Is it wrong that I kinda dig the trident green? Minty!
The perforations are kinda cool. But--design woulda been cleaner w/out the plastic thing on the side, yes?

I don't mind the side piece.

mesh runners were my fav last summer, specifically the NB 860v2, that toe box lets all the breeze in. don't have any good skate shoe reccs, I do SB dunk or GT blazer lows when it's 90+ and grab the slides post sesh

these days my footwear is pretty dialed in by season: boots or skate shoes in the colder months (blundstones, various red wings), and birkenstock clogs (bostons) or skate shoes in the warmer months.

I think vans old skools are the best warm weather skate shoes with the right socks

The first Ishods are quite breathable. The only reason they lasted as long as they did was because I couldn't skate them when it was cold

Those mesh Adidas are dope. But the burning question: how to style em? Of course my instinct is to go full 80s Dad...
