I hire a large, hairy, barrel chested man to give me a piggyback ride to the park.

I’ve seen this guy that rolls up to the spot in a Tesla and has an anti hero board and hat. Seems wrong. Not hardcore.

I'll be honest it depends on the bike.

This what I like to bike like.

I sold my bike for $40 the other day. It had two flat tires and was rusted.
Hopefully not a kook, but if so, fuck it.

Skateboarding as a mode of transportation is the kookiest thing and it's a ball ache. Bikes all day because you warm you can go door to door and travel with minimal effort.
People that want to skate across the country have a screw loose.

Skating as transportation is a good way to get good at skating in a hurry. As a child it was pretty much the only option. Ollieing up curbs, over sewer grates, doing manuals down the road, it all puts your progression into hyper speed. You learn board control. You learn to push in way that doesn’t look like shit. It’s also fun. I feel bad for those who grew up in areas where this was not an option.

Yeah , I get that. As a kid we did that all day going from spot to spot. That is skateboarding not traveling to a destination on a skateboard.  I soon learned that biking got you to spots quicker and you had more time skating at the desired spots.

Help me out my brother. You have me confused over here. Is it not both?

I'm about to drop a killer hardcore album. Sounds nothing like turnstile tho. I get comparison to lyle preslar and Pat Smear. I think about Bri Doom and Parris Mayhew a lot.

Turnstile is ok. Kinda reminds me a little of like Snapcace mixed with like fugazi. I'd definitely bump if I wasn't constantly listen to classical radio so I drive happy.

I tend to longboard-dance to the skatepark where I take out the RC car to annoy all hardcore skaters.

Depends on the location of your flat / local spot.

Today I live in the city - and my local skatepark is at the other side of a big old park - it’s a 5min Bike ride a cross the park and side by side the river.
By board woud be plain stupid because surface of other is really bad asphalt or dirt track.

Back in the days I lived in a bigger city - with a huge Granit plaza -20min by Metro - but when the sun was shining and I was free the full day I was going the distance by board - passing a lots of little spots and cruising the street.
Depending on my little sessions in between it was 1-3 hours till I was arriving at the plaza. The way was they aim- arriving at the final spot with 5-6 little missions in between was golden.

if you live in a dense urban environment and like to street skate, biking is by far the best way to get around

- faster and less tiring than skating from spot to spot
- depending on the distance, often faster than public transit or even driving sometimes
- don't have to deal with parking
- easy to hit multiple spots without the hassle of getting back in the car/reparking or taking another bus/train
- fun as hell
- fully warmed up by the time you get to the spot/is a nice cool down after the session on the way home as well
- can be outside the whole day, my mood vastly improves when i can do this and it also allows you to find new spots that you wouldn't be able to stop and check out if you were driving or on public transit

i live in nyc and riding bikes is a big part of skate culture here imo. when i've lived in less walkable/bikeable/dense cities, it makes less sense, so it really depends on where you live. as far as the perceived coolness or "hardcore" quality, i'd say it's pretty sick to ride bikes personally but i guess maybe that's subjective

Biking to a park less than a mile away is tight as you'll be warmed up, anything farther and you'll get too tired to skate, especially in Florida.

trick question-- there's nothing hardcore about going to a skatepark. you should only be skating ditches, diy's and high-bust street spots

Over the winter I broke 2 ribs falling on a hubba and had to ride home. The next morning I rode to work in strong freezing winds to unload a truck at 4am. I felt pretty hardcore but thinking back I may just be an idiot.

The best way to show up to the park is in a car that's barely running
