I know it’s all old shit but this makes me want to skate. Dude’s style has always been unique and original. Tech meets hesh. He’s a 90s skater fa sho. You can tell he was influenced by Guy with some of those ledge tricks and the lines at Lockwood.

I’d like to see the bails from this footage. You can tell this dude be working for tricks.

The best.
On Thursday I saw a late night live stream of this video, thought about posting it but the resolution was meh so I didn’t. Glad they proper posted it, but I’m pretty sure they changed the second song from Bathory to whatever this is. I actually like this version of it too, but since it was late and I only watched it once the other version feels like a fever dream…
Anyways, AVE fucking rules.

I've always thought this was such a stunning clip. The colors, the trick, everything. Stoked to see it again.

The theme song from PHANTASM was something I never pictured with skating, but now that I've seen it, I love it. Proper timing too since the movie just turned 45. AVE will always be the illest, love a good greatest hits kinda edit.

Me neither. Phantasm (1979) is such an atmospheric, weirdo horror classic. Love its sci-fi elements, low budget efficiency, and creepy soundtrack. Would never have thought of it for a skate edit though and it definitely works.

Flawless edit, that was just super enjoyable start to finish. I skated with AVE at that Huntington park with the curbs a few months ago and dude is still so good.

Really love this approach for a retrospective - no talking heads going on about what a good skater he is, just 9 minutes of footage that makes you as a viewer go "wow that's right, AVE is really fucking good".

Def gone down YouTube rabbit holes before of just listening to old movie scores/themes. It's almost like cheating using them for an edit because they're literally designed to build emotion in the background. You'd think it would be done way more

Respect to AVE but that first track will always remind me of Mr. Ross Norman.

Great style and I love the fact his switch looks switch.

He's got some powerful SW 360 flips, the one he does at 5:55 while bombing the road full speed has got to be one of the best ever done. And they ended it on his beloved green bench.

Some may call it 'tight' others will say 'just normal fitting'.

Everything about that was just brilliant! Loved both songs, especially the second with really nice slo mo's.

Really liked the feeble around the curve at 2:43. What a spot!

His part in the DC video was the first legitimate full-part I ever saw. This was back when Kazaa/Limewire were things. I searched "skate video", recognized the DC brand, and clicked download.

Little did I know at 12 years old, it would never get better than that.
