Weight distribution for Camera Rigs
« on: May 15, 2024, 01:29:03 PM »
Has anyone come up with a decent solution for their rig that balances the weight to the back a bit more? I'm talking about handheld fisheye line filming. I have a pretty front-heavy lens and I've been brainstorming a way to attach some BS to the back of my cage that will balance things out. Seems like the Memory Screen dude in that Pocket "Followed" episode had it figured out with his GH4 rig.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

He has an eazy handle. This guy remakes them and is the only way to get one unless one pops up on ebay.

This guy is making replicas of the original?! That's awesome. Thanks for the link.

I'm using a Smallrig Cage for my GH4. I was considering adding a few cheese plates and a V mount battery for additional weight. Seems like that would do the trick.

*Update:
I ended up pulling the trigger on that easy handle replica. I can confirm it is pretty awesome, but certainly not cheap. For those who don't want to tinker with rigging up a cage with additional weight, the easy handle replica is a fine off-the-shelf solution.
