Science proved Huberman wrong again A popular idea on social media (mostly preached by Andrew Huberman) is to avoid caffeine the first 90 minutes of the day because of adenosine build-up. Delaying cafffeine consumption is also said to avoid the afternoon crash.  Neither claim has any basis in scientific data, according to a recent scientific review.

Huberman knows he won't stand out if he doesn't make wild claims, much like the chiropractors on youtube who exaggerate and lie for subs.

i'm sorry but this is wrong. they might not have proved it but it works. i've been doing it for 1.5 years now and it's my favorite thing. my wife is prediabetic and has a glucose monitor where she can see her corizol levels and knows exactly when to drink some coffe.

lol. Have you ever listened to one of his podcasts? He usually backs up his claims with a study, but if you listen closely or do some quick research you will find out in many cases those are small studies on rodents or monkeys. He will exaggerate like crazy and pick out fringe studies to make himself, his advice and the supplements he wants to advertise seem more important and interesting. Not saying he‘s dumb or misinformed, but he’s in it for the money and the attention, he doesn’t care about the science.

I'm a dumb "on-the-internet-too-much" guy who was a fan when I first saw his clips, but the smartest/most educated people I know hate Andrew Huberman so now I do too.

I’ve mentioned this before but I heard of the coffee delay trick before I ever heard of huberman at a talk at a retreat on wellness. Most people know it from huberman but I don’t think it’s his idea

It is a review and not a study. It was published in a taylor and francis journal and not sone predatory mdpi bullshit. So most likely no big money and also no fraud behind that paper.

way i come to think about it: it is a good idea to let your body wake up a little before you jump start it with coffee. that said, i love to drink 2 cups first thing in the morning

lol it is just common sense. you are going to feel really de hydrated if you drink a lot of coffee after drinking a lot of beer the night before and smoking a ton of weed. so you gotta wait a little bit. i also drink it first thing in the morning sometimes too. who gives a shit. life is too short for this dickride serious try hard fuckery.

i find this topic interesting and i'm not trying to be annoying and pushy here. but wanted to share... if i was still drinking i'd probably not do it as much. but without drinking it's pretty easy to keep myself busy for an hour before coffee and know i won't crash at 2-3. i've been working till midnight or later most nights (passion project) and i'm pretty sure without doing this that wouldn't be happening. i feel so pumped every day, it's wild.

and i'm just circling back on this because this technique has been a game changer for me and i don't want the fact that huberman sucks to overshadow that.
