Those are 20 bucks at Walmart.  Can’t hate on someone using their endorsement to back an inexpensive option.  Hope he’s getting paid well for it and it makes the kid wearing Walmart shoes feel a little cooler.

I don't know about Clive, but Nick got paid to do a post for them and skates other shoes all the time. I don't think Airwalk has a "team" they just want to get back into the skating market and are paying certain pros/influencers to do posts for them.

It reminds me of when Pat Duffy rode for that Walmart brand airspeed, even had a pro shoe but would only skate other shoes openly.

Pat Duffy was somehow on like duffs, Macbeth, and airspeed all at the same time . It was confusing to 11 year old me reading transworld everyone would praise the dudes accomplishments but then he always had an ad near the back repping the lamest companies.

Back when I was 13, someone called him Butt Buffy and I’ve never been able to bring myself to like him since

Duffs were kind of an also-ran company, probably because their designs weren't so pleasing to the eye compared to Half Cabs, Sal 23s, Accels, etc. But their shoes were comfy and lasted and the Kareem shoe predictably sold pretty well.

I had a pair of Airwalks that I wore while spray painting my bike as a kid. The paint got all over them and I was really bummed, so my dad used a rag soaked in gasoline to clean them off. They never, ever stopped smelling like gasoline after that.

I'd wear that stupid neon green tennis ball shoe or the Jason Lee model if they made those again.

As a kid who was skating everyday. With a single mom who would not buy $60 skate shoes every month or two. Payless, Kmart, and airspeed were the go-to. Talk all the shit you want on zumiez but they kept a board under my feet for under $40. Anyone that can provide a decent product at an affordable price. I'm all for it. Grew up seeing Clive ripping contests and spots in FL. Hook the boy up. If I could think anyone representing airwalk coming back into the scene it would be Andy Mac.

Loved the Airwalk video. Shot on film, SoCal surf rock and their team was stellar. Fine work Jamie Mosberg.

Remember way back when Rowley was bragging about how they never used to touch down on nosegrinds?? 9:10 is what that looks like. Just lock in kids

^^^^Yikes hard pass on those. But that being said I proudly wore some Airwalk monstrosities in the 80s and early 90s. Velocity, NTS, Enigma and I  can’t remember the name but one model had a sole that was like a Goodyear tire compound. I’d always drag my foot bombing hills and it sounded like a car peeling out.

My friend had this video and we wore the fuck out of it. All of those songs are still in my head today.

Mosberg did some cool stuff as a filmer but he also ruined a lot of shots. I remember there’s a trick in that video that Mike Frazier does that is filmed so poorly it’s literally unidentifiable, at least on the VHS tapes of old

that's an insane photo to use.

Also, remake everything up to about 98 and stop.  That's all anyone wants.

Close to the shape I like  but something is off about that heel. Very disconcerting.

Why is the left shoe untied, though?

pretty sure he mostly rocked Simple shoes. IMO the airwalk cupsoles aren't bad, especially for a walmart shoe. visually they harken back to when the brand was relevant - but showcasing them with ankle socks and tight pants kinda ruins that. the airwalk vulcanized shoes on the other hand

Crazy how airwalks were the 3rd biggest shoe co behind Nike and adidas in the 90s and that they fell off so hard in the 2000s
If they just remade the old ones, but with better structure, like rubber under the suede toes, they’d probably get some sales, I could see them being pretty big especially with kids dressing with their version of the 90s right now. Jason Lee, tennis ball Jim shoes, gto’s, blue suede shoes, just bring back  the line from 95-97

The Jason Lees were one of the best looking skate shoes ever made. I hope they bring them back. The Vics looked good too

what’s the reason there’s never been an Enigma reboot?  I’ve got a closet full of good insoles just waiting.  is there a licensing issue?  i’ve got the crispy ghetto wear cargos locked and loaded already.  and a grip of A1 meat and tracker stickers to seal the enigmas up when i cut them down.
[close]

There’s no way they got the molds for those. Nor the care to bring um back for a half dozen 40 year olds.

I’d rather just see other brands that make better Shit knock the colourway once a year. I think there is enigma flavor Tiago’s.

Lakai knocked it a while back intentionally I think. I missed out
[close]
They did remake the enigma in 2011 but used Mike v to push them and that was peak thinnest shoes possible time so I guess they didn't take off.

Also while trying to look them up discovered the Airwalk enigma is a type of kids bmx bike now

All my first Cali photos are in enigmas. I’m very sentimental about that shoe. It was a little stiff in the heels. I chopped mine to endless blisters
