Mikey Taylor was a good skater, especially the In Bloom era. Hitting big rails, clean ledge lines, Nollie flip noseslide Cardiel hubba. Hate on him for his current day persona but you can’t deny that he was ripping back then.

i think wes is probably a more well rounded skater 1:1, but just totally different.

Mikey Taylor definitely ripped.  As did Dyrdek.  And Berra had an incredible backside flip, he also flipped out of blunts on vert which is super fucked up even now.

Max skates a lot of NYC crust and Wes is crusty by nature.  Wes skates "irregular" shit too - rocks.  Is there anything like that ... thing at Lorimer and Meserole in SD?  They stick to their different environments so thats why Id want to see them in KOTR

I get why you feel this way, but its true. Wes has sw tre'd a 16 stair and hes also done crazy technical shit off rocks, logs, and complete non-spots. Every vid has a clip of Max eating shit pushing from his trucks, kinda skates the same type of thing fairly often, and definitely doesn't skate many banks, rails, stairs, or transition. Wes can rip Washington St and go do a sw tre off a rock in the same day. Max can bonk some stuff and skate that fountain spot, but I can't think of that many clips of him breaking out of that wheelhouse.

Max skates a lot of NYC crust and Wes is crusty by nature.  Wes skates "irregular" shit too - rocks.  Is there anything like that ... thing at Lorimer and Meserole in SD?  They stick to their different environments so thats why Id want to see them in KOTR

I agree. Max is just gimmicky. His Spitfire wheel part was the closest we've gotten to seeing his true potential. Max has the cool guy seal of approval so he can get by with his dinky dork around tricks while Wes is a truly incredible skater who can skate anything. He could 100% skate those bumpy planter "rails" or the fountain spot in NYC just as good as Max.

Sorry you can't see the facts. Wes has over a decade of insane parts that demonstrate how fucking talented he is. Max has a few niche parts that have cult status based on when they came out and how "different" they were. I think he contributed to people approaching spots differently, like Alexis' part where he skates a ton of logs and random objects, but most people end up doing it better.

Its fine to like him. I like Cyrus a lot even tho I know 100% what each part will have. I appreciate it for what it is and acknowledge where it sits relative to skating. What we like to watch doesn't have to be "the best"
