Louie and Curren should get Alec Majerus on FA and reunite the Flip 3
[close]

Matt Berger is actually pretty Hockey…..
[close]
There was a 3rd Flip baby w/Louie & Curren, but it wasn’t Majerus. This crossed my mind the other day and I couldn’t remember who it was…
[close]

It was Axel.
[close]
No, it was Luan. The OG Flip “3” were Louie, Luan, and Curren. Oh how we forget our history.

Edit: Majerus was in that “3” video but the real 3 are the OG’s imo. Whoever really cared about Alec Majerus?

Alec is criminally underrated.

While I think the spots are amazing and would love to skate there, there’s something a little too dull when you see it in footy. Kinda grayish and everything looks almost too perfect.

I like the China spots. I think they look nice even tho they're so perfect. I just imagine how much fun it must be to skate spots like that. I like "boring" tech ledge lines at plazas too so it kinda speaks to my skate sensibilities. At least China has the  vision to build amazing public spaces that actually get maintained and not neglected over the years. I'd bet those spots are also newer and haven't seen as much abuse from skateboarders.

i think that is too much of an over generalization though. its a MASSIVE country i bet theres so many insane beautiful spots we have no idea about too. i totally get why you are saying this about the overwhelming gray but etc. but that is not how every spot looks. i have seen a lot where there are a lot of trees and gardens integrated into urban areas. brian peacock has some really cool looking spots in his primitive define part i thought.

The pollution. The political persecution. The forced labor and human rights violations. The animal welfare offenses. The Muslim slave camps. The human trafficking. The mass surveillance & social credit system. The crackdown and censorship of journalists. The government LGBTQ/social discrimination. The expansive military aggression. Etc. Etc. No thanks.

Not to sound patriotic or defend America's own flaws but the GDP, Quality of Life index, Property/Income Ratio and Unemployment% are just a few of many statistics that are easy to find and that indicate the opposite of your economic assertion.
Not sure what you heard or read but their economy and standard of living is shit right now. Many of the large cities you described are mostly deserted ghost towns because of the stagnant economy. "The future", I really hope not. Many of their citizens are quite literally trying to escape.

Perhaps you missed the part where I said "not to defend America's own flaws" and comparing the US to China on those issues is like comparing salt water to gasoline. You should educate yourself on the topic or better yet go there. Live there. Pretty please. Fly your freak flag, start a small business, jaywalk and see what happens.
Your comments on social credit and pollution alone speak to your level of ignorance and privilege. Please find me one religious slave labor concentration camp in the US, I'll give you as much time as you need.
I notice that you conveniently left the animal welfare, Muslims camps, LGBTQ and journalist censorship off of the checklist.
This is not an excuse for the USA's massive flaws, it's simply a rebuttal to touting China as promising, superior to the US economically and "the future".

Just like the US btw.

The problem with you guys is that your are too ignorant about the rest of the world. Cuz you have that american exceptionalism wired deep down your brains.

Again "Not to sound patriotic or defend America's own flaws..." No exceptionalism at all. I have lived in several countries on multiple continents.
I'm just debunking YOUR assertion that China is superior and desirable compared to the US which is a wild take.
The problem with "you guys" is that you have selective memory and bask in your own ignorance. I suggest you keep traveling the world in search of a promising future.
"Amazing country. Just like the US btw". Now that is rich.

Irrefutable? No. More reputable than China's vastly superior propaganda machine? Probably.
Who said it was an index of "freedom"? I don't equate economic statistics with an index of "freedom" but while you're on the subject, yes China's labor laws and practices are abhorrent in comparison to lots of the world, including the US.
Do you believe that imprisoning entire Muslim populations for the purpose of forcefully brainwashing them with propaganda ("reeducation" as they call it) while using them for slave labor is an objectively viable index of societal freedom?

The year I lived in Spain was the best year of my life. Barcelona absolutely lives up to the hype.
Living in Melbourne was awesome for skating. The Working Holiday Visa is a great way to stack cash. They pay great wages.
Lived in Italy for several years. Great place to socialize and pig out but certainly not the best skate scenes up north.

Uyghur Muslim internment camps in Xinjiang, China. Pretty common knowledge.
Kidnappings. Mass detentions. Family separation. Political indoctrination. Forced labor. Torture. Sexual abuse. Genocide.
A well-documented humanitarian crisis. Time to educate yourself "buddy".

“there are … around 1 million foreign-born residents in China, or less than 0.1% of the population.”

“The United States is home to the highest number of immigrants in the world. An estimated 50.6 million people in the United States—a bit more than 15% of the total population”. 5% of the entire population being foreign born chinese.

china and the u.s. are the 2nd and 3rd most populous countries in the world, respectively.

all other factors aside, i guess i would just ask the question, if china is the future, the future for who?
