How did you like santa cruz? Im thinking of attending there.

The school was great. A lot of fun, an AMAZING campus, good classes. The skating situation isn't that great though. Santa Cruz has very few spots, even though the Scotts valley park is right nearby and there supposed to be building a new cement park in Santa Cruz. San Jose is pretty close, and SF is a bit further, but both can be skated on a day trip. Santa Cruz locals are SUPER LAME. They have this wierd attitude about UCSC, like they were there first or something, even though most were born long after the University opened. Basically, they hate anybody who has been more than 20 miles from Santa Cruz, and won't soon be addicted to Meth. Overall though, I would highly recommend it, especially if your not from Northern California.

Side note: I have nothing against nor cal kids, just the SC loc's

Yeah, I forgot to mention derby! That place rules. Those stencils are so rediculous too. There's "locals only" ones too. I'm pretty sure some dumb surfer with spraypaint must have wandered up from west cliff on shrooms thinking he was tagging a wave.

You can definately skate derby, it's just that santa cruz is a surf town, and they want to localize derby or whatever. I've seen little kids there skating with the surfer dudes. I think the surfers skate that place pretty good, you pretty much have to surf that spot.

Thing is, I never got any shit for skating there. If they were all agro about it I probably would have, but the people there are actually super chill. Its the most laid back park ever. Seriously, I think the kids who tagged that shit don't even skate it. They just think of it as some sort of turf to defend.
If you go to derby though, be careful, the cops come looking for people with beer or weed. IT seems like a chill place to kick back and have a barbeque and drink some beers, but the cops come and are bloodthirsty
