Today is Friday which I'm pretty stoked on. Looking forward to skating this weekend even though the forecast looks brutally hot.

Got myself a paid internship at a museum… little late to the game considering i’m in my graduate program but i’m happy nonetheless. Paid ones are rare…

A while back, the lock on the right rear passenger door of my car stopped locking. I was pretty bummed because I figured it was the lock motor had died or something and it seemed like a labor intensive and expensive fix. Then, today, I realized that the window on that door also wasn't opening. That made me suspect it was fuse related. Lo and behold, I pulled out the fuse for that door and it was dead. I replaced it and now the door locks and the window functions normally. A $10 fix.

A good friend helped me get back switch 360 flips today. He pointed out that I kept trying to turn my shoulders fs a bit and that was throwing everything off. Completely changed how I was looking at the trick and it felt more comfortable than ever after I focused on not turning fs
I actually used to have this trick a few summers ago but I learned swicth hard flips since and that completely threw off my usual switch shoulder technique.

My legs are pretty fucked, so while I can skate alright, haven’t been able to skate for two days in a row for 10+ years.
Last weekend managed three in a row, with a couple of new tricks.

Orale muchacho, it is all for the culture and to spread good vibes

That kitchen countertop is banging btw.

Most importantly, RIP BubbleGum Tate.

Shoutout @apport for making the RIP Tate stickers btw.

I got impatient and made the shalom, lion, and pitch fork mob stickers a while back. All of those graphics were made by other people so I cannot take credit for the graphics.

Those stickers are so sick. I would love to get some of those.

Great ass weekend. Mushroom chocolate bars Friday night (warning they're 10x more potent than advertised but dive in), successful move into the new apartment Saturday, it's a new apartment that's not quite finished so naturally I got locked out on the rooftop balcony and the homies had to come rescue me after I threw my keys off the roof. Then a beautiful grill session at the park by the river with the homies today. After living within downtown for the last 10 years I forgot how nice it is to live amongst trees when you step outside your building and couldn't be more hyped on the new spot

They’re almost done a complete remodel of my local park. Looking sick, especially compared to the gnarly metal quarter pipes I used to eat shit on.
I like the tip. The tip is all I’ve ever known.

Getting a new/remodeled local gives you one hell of a feeling

I know how all of my crew felt when our piece of shit "skatepark" was remodeled by Thaynan

I think they did reno on mine 10 years ago and built it about 15 ago. It was gnarlier than most of the parks Gravette skates on those YouTube vids. No concrete anywhere, just metal verts plopped on rough asphalt. Shit was warped, rusted, etc. most of it wasn’t even anchored.

Last time I went I kept trying to ride this 5’ high vert and would either hit rust and bail, not get enough speed and bail, or eat shit the moment I tried to transition from metal to asphalt. I even fucked my wrist and ankle on a riser that led down into asphalt so shitty it was like gravel.
I like the tip. The tip is all I’ve ever known.

I bought this Zendrive guitar pedal a few years back on Craigslist for $100 CAD and noticed they are now selling for $800-1200 on Reverb. Kinda want to try to sell it cause I'm broke at the moment but I might regret it. It's a cool pedal and I'm a huge Robben Ford fan.

For sure. Slight caveat though they need to be one of the original Hermida signed hand wired versions before they were built by Lovepedal. Should have his signature on the inside and a kind of serial # you can use to date it if so. Written out Day/Month/Year. Mine was 090309-03B so Sept 3rd 2009.

Shit, I’d say cash out and just build or commission a diy one. A lot of really bored nerds will build you a functionally complete version of boutique pedals for cheap af
