girl and chocolate were always from different woodshops bitd (girl ps stix and i think chcolate was taylor). both different, both amazing in their own ways. i guess chocolate must still be seperate if it is stamped made in usa.

for me it's the loss of the old flat concave girl had that has prevented me buying their boards. up until they changed it i literally only buyed girl for quite a while. i wish companies would offer two concaves as standard (like stereo did, the lofi concave was actually the old girl concave and wood before stereo left giant).

I've been riding hand-me-down decks for like a year, and about 2 months ago,  I realized a had a bit of money if my life,
so I got a new deck, the gino "dia de los muertos". I broke it in like 5 days, doing a kickflip board. then I bought a habitat
bamboo ply deck and I seriously cracked it in about 15 minutes doing a nollie 5-0. then it broke 3 days later while I was doing a
fucking boardslide. after that I set up another chocolate deck (MJ's model, not that it matters).  I was playing a game of skate probably 2 days later, I did a nollie 3 flip and snapped the tail off. like it broke through 6 plys.  And I don't think that I'm fat enough to break boards doing flip tricks, but who knows. I bought a Krooked after that (my first deluxe board ever) and it was great. I rode it for about a month, then I had a spaz session and threw it into the ground for a bit to the point where it was too chipped to ride. now I'm back on  the hand-me-downs, And I've been riding a used girl deck for a few weeks now. it seems alright.
I got to say a really dig some of their shapes, but I would probably never spend money on another one.  Ok, I'm done ranting.
but fuck chinese wood. the end

My last 3 boards were Chocolate, and they kept their pop during almost the whole period I used them (maybe 3 months). It was the first time since a while that I had to change my board because it was too used and not because it was broken...
But, I had become more sensitive the the origin of the board, so i'm thinking about choosing a brand 100%.
As a european, I should support my local industry buying Jart boards (they have their own wood and workshop), but the graphics and the image of the team are definitely not attractive...

Had a girl mariano deck about a year ago and it was realy bad, lost all of its pop in like 3 sessions and chipped on stuff that shouldnt harm it.. 4 inch chip on the bottom layer of the nose in 3 weeks
i dont care where they get the wood from (someone said it might be american wood pressed in China) but its horibble
everything i decided to try something from China was bad and didnt last long, how long will it be till companies understand that they might profit from chinese low-quality manufacturing right now but in the long run it will fuck them up. i would only buy girls and enjoi's if the wood was good but i just cant, they are just shit.
and i'm not against foreign manufacturing, i only care about the quality of the product.
deluxe and blackbox are doing it right, foreign manufacturing but real good products so both sides win.

I've had 3 Girls, they've all been really nice, the second one I had I skated in the rain with it 3 or 4 times and it still felt really nice afterwards.

I'm awaiting my package of Girl/Chocolate decks from Crailtap.. :)
I'm trying Chocolate for once.

Okay, I got the Koston "Big Girl" deck yesterday.

I set it up and tried a kickflip, and shot the board out right into the door of my own car. Put a huge dent in it. Later on in the day, I got chased by a cop on a horse. He was not feeling me.

These are both telltale signs of a good board.

Last one I had was a Sheffey, and the last one I stood on felt soggy. It could've been that one deck, but since shortly before the IASC fiasco, I only ride American made boards.

They have a sick team and a sick art and design crew though... that goes without saying though.

I would never purchase a Girl board, although, I like their image and team.

and their biggest decks are 8 inch. only one 8.5 skate fairy but that shape sucked.

got a Mariano right now, pretty decent so far. just need to get used to the concave. the thing that kills me with girl and other companies that have great art departments is the quality of the heat transfers. pixilated out and fuzzy at best. i know it's just a graphic and it's going to go bye-bye after a couple weeks, but come on, a little bit more quality never hurt anyone, just cost more.

I decided to change things up, and bought a 7.5 mike carrol board last august. all I'm really going to say is that the deck cracked while I was lipsliding a parking block. still the board lasted until late fall, when some bitch kicked it out into the road right under an oncoming suv

I had a rick howard Girl a few years back and loved it.
I never knew they were shitty wood.
I just never buy them b/c the local shop don't carry them.

Everyone wants to like Girl Distro 'cause the team rips and art direction's really good. And all distros can be spotty, but come on, overall the quality's pretty shitty.
