Frontside pop shuvs. Skated for over 20 years and could never get it to happen but finally saw the matrix. Also popping ollies out of manuals. As an old guy it feels so good to get little basics down that always escaped me.

Dont come at the ledge at an angle, go parallel. And aim a bit forward on the ledge like when you do bs noseslides.

The legend of Mayhew needs to be passed from the elder scrolls down to the youth.

I also can't really relate do their tips, however, I reckon their capable of doing them when they can give tips... I don't think bs nosegrinds have that much to do with a bs crooks: your balance point is somewhere else... If you keep getting stuck, just wax the shit out of the ledge or skate faster... and slight angle won't be bad either

I guess you guys didn't get what I was saying. I wasn't saying that learning nosegrinds would help him learn crooks, I was saying that nosegrinds are infinitely cooler than crooked grinds.

That's what I was thinking. I feel way more comfortable with back crooks granted I've never even tried back nosegrinds but I just feel better riding up for a back crooks than I do for a back nosegrind. Thanks for the advice!

Finally get some switch ledge game. Learned switch frontside nosegrinds, and nearly switch back nosegrinds. I was also getting really close to nollie flip backside 50-50s, which would be one of the more tech tricks I've ever done.

After watching Mike York's trick tip I got moved to go out and try a 5-0 to switch crooked grind - something I've never attempted before. Wasn't near a ledge during today's session, but managed to actually pull one on a curb. Tomorrow I'll hit the park & try it on a decent ledge.

Does that count as a combo trick? If it does, that would be my first.: )

I'm finally able to bs 180 off/down things. It's a glorious feeling. I did one off a kicker yesterday and I must say it's almost better than bombing hills.
