bs 180 fakie 5050 halfcab out. rolled up to the ledge the other day 'bad idea bad idea' and my buddy goes 'good idea good idea' and i landed one for one, batting 1000. i can do really crummy bs 180 nosegrinds so you'd think i'd have tried these before but i just never did. for yrs i was stubborn as a mule deer and wouldn't go outside my comfort zone so as an older gentleman i'm picking up lotsa stuff i could've had back then.

Learned that fakie shuv switch no comply 180 that guy did in the Polar promo and I did a bunch of back tails today. After I landed the first back tail it was all I really cared about for the rest of the session.

i've been stuck on those the last month. some days i have em pretty good and others it takes an hour to land one. seems like every night i do my little routine of tricks i have then get stuck battling bsts til i get a few but they're part of my identity now so it drives me nuts not to have em.

I feel you on the whole identifying with certain tricks and feeling the need to get em back after losing them. With back tails as soon as I learned to be weightless on my front foot after popping they started to become much easier.

Heelflip varial

I only landed two, but I figured it out! I've tried this trick for 15 years, including one session where I tried for 3 hours. I figured it out randomly by trying to flip a forward flip. I would always slide my front foot out forward, but sliding up and shoving my back foot harder made it happen. I'm pretty happy.  ???

What's the trick for not snapping your board while flipping/shoviting to a boardslide or lipslide on a flatrail?

still not what i consider "learned it" yet, but i?m getting along with bs 360s on flatground- still not satisfied with the way i do those, but i got closer over the last couple of weeks. and at the same time i figured out how to bs 360 no comply. stoked on these after nearly 14 years on the board!!!

What's the trick for not snapping your board while flipping/shoviting to a boardslide or lipslide on a flatrail?

If the board hits the rail before you catch it then you land on it you are likely to snappo. You need to catch the board fully (or have a lot of flow) then it becomes more like ollieing into it, also have heaps of flow so move your body for the whole trick dont just try and kicky boardslide lock in without trying to land, you have to think your gonna land or =no flow=more stiff lock in=snappo.

Also you want to have really good technique for flip/shuv into boards in particular, you need to land in a very specific part of the board after completing a well executed flip/shuv then catch. It can be more difficult to learn bcos of the number of boards potentially broken along the way... its not like learning flip 5-0 or something where you are highly unlikely to snap your deck so you can try for hours and eventually learn..

you will snap decks learning this trick so if you can afford it go fo it otherwise perhaps wait until your skill has advanced further.. GL

haha sorry,  dont stamp on it too hard you have to catch the flip and place it on the rail nice n gentle .. its hard to explain but just like.. be floaty and try not to pop higher than neccesary to get on the rail

Thanks both for the advice! I've already heard the floaty thing before. My problem could also be that I try to learn them the insecure pussy way by doing an ollie too far by the end of the rail, already thinking about landing, which results in a hideous mash of a broken board and unsatisfying landing.

Nah dude I'm pretty sure the board wrapped around his heel so the trick was almost like a frontside bigspin. Frontside impossib-heel?

Slappy crook bs shuv on a decently high ledge.

I did a no-comply bs 5-0 yesterday, but I can't say I've learned it yet, since it was only one so far. I've done bs 50-50 too, so hopefully I can get those both down.

fakie no comply and back 180 no comply but where you plant your foot down like a normal one and sort of trick your body into turning backside. I don't really know how to explain it but they're fun as hell

Front wallie back 180. Can someone point me to footy of someone else doing one? Been thinking that trick would be cool for a little bit now but I couldn't think of any ones I've seen even though it's not a crazy or obscure trick.
