RB umali on 48 blocks.
« on: October 17, 2007, 01:56:01 PM »
everyones favorite east coast filmer!
http://www.48blocks.com/rbumali/

its really too bad about the EST vids. those videos is what kept the east coast skaters on the map and its sad to see one of the east coasts biggest companies not back it anymore....so lame.  i used to love zoo back in the days because they kept it real/raw, but its pretty much lost touch with what made the company cool/unique.  :-\

how young are you? for a long time, there were only a few people on the east coast who shot the majority of the footage that was coming out. Guys like RB and Jay Maldanado may not be thought of as "favorite east coast filmers" anymore, but there was certainly a time when they were, and there names are about as synonymous with New York skateboarding as it gets.
Skateboarding is over for you now.

RBs cool,I never realised he filmed most of the NY section in EE 3.Him and Wolfe were THE east coast filmers.Good filming. RBs a good influence for me I make skate videos and skate its good to look up to dudes like RB,Wolfe,Prescott...Im getting a dubbed copy of Mixtape one on video thanks to my friend (griptapethumb) on here but I would love a copy of RBs first vid with full oyola and Lennie kirk sections.Sounds sick.

RB - The first full video I made was called "A World Premiere." I made it during my senior year in high school and edited the entire video with 2 VCR's and a Sony Discman. Ricky Oyola, Anthony Correa, and Lennie Kirk all had full parts in the video.

is this video somewhere available, lennie kirk footage is always a treat.

That interview made me feel nostalgic as fuck, like an old man. Skateboarding is such a clown thing now compared to what it was  then. In the brooklyn banks golden era it was tight and street credible stuff  8) 8) 8). None of this orange nike sb's and a green t-shirt with packman on it shit then.

Would your favorite be a younger, more full-figured NYC filmer?

I was thinking about contacting RB and/or Zoo and asking them to re release Peep this and Mixtape 1 on dvd. Or even if RB just made a few copys and sold it on a website of his or something like Wolfe does with EE3 etc. I would love a copy of that first video and a dude just said hes got a fucking copy.Dub it for me in return of paypal?

there's no way mixtape will ever be rereleased, the reason they stopped producing it was cuz of music rights with the MC's in the video, i will dub you a copy once i work out how to hook my 2 VCR's up
