Watching skate parts mirrored
« on: March 10, 2024, 07:32:49 PM »
Anyone ever do this? As a regular skater, I find it interesting to see some goofy skaters I enjoy riding in my stance so I can relate more to what they’re doing. I considered bumping a really old thread about this but it somehow devolved (or evolved, depending on your stance) into smoking meth.

Just watched:
Appleyard in Sorry
Heath’s Sight Unseen

As someone who does a lot of handstands on my skateboard, I prefer to watch the videos upside down

Can he read

I watched Animal Chin in reverse and was blown away how they built that car and repaired that huge hole in the chin ramp. The Bones Brigade were pretty crafty.

i don't need or want to do it anymore, but i have many memories of watching skate videos in the reflection of a glass-doored cabinet while being around the corner in the kitchen of my family home growing up. it was definitely cool to watch the same skating you'd seen before look opposite to what you knew it to be.

i've mentioned this heaps of times before, i'm natural footed but have this idea that goofy skaters are better and look better. it was definitely less satisfying watching koston skate natural i recall.

Ah yes, that was my thread that turned into Methamphettery

Yes, i still do this from time to time. BA has talked about using a literal mirror to do it, but i still use an old chrome extension that flips the page horizontally

Maybe i've had too many drugs in my lifetime, but damn it, you feel it in your bones when you watch someone your own stance

Maybe a bit offtopic but I noticed that some full movies on porn sites are mirrored too. I suppose because of copyright issues.

You don't really notice it though (unless they are subtitled or there is a sign or something else with text) but you are actually looking at switch fucking.

If you're using VLC PLayer:
1) Tools
2) Effects & Filters
3) Video Effects
4) Click Transform
5) Select Flip Horizontally

It’s a good concept in theory, and I have heard a lot of people say that they do this on the regular. But it’s almost like trying to watch someone paint something backwards. Some people will get it, some people it will throw through a loop. Just all depends on how your brain works. I find that in art i am very bad at 3D (adding onto things that are already there) but in 2D i am much better at subtracting from what is not there if that makes any sense. #latenightthoughts

I did this when I was probably around 10 years old.  Watching the TV through a mirror doing the vcr frame by frame slow mo to figure out to do tricks.  It probably didn’t help but it was fun

Same, but with Herman and Trapasso. Those two always seemed like they should be right foot forward to me.

Wow, that is weird. Never heard that. If you have a spouse or longtime partner you should  both go to Dr. Phil:

For 25 years my husband told me he was regular. During a ski trip I found out he's goofy...

This thread is amazing, not because of the actual substance (no offense at all @fakie nollie) but because it has alerted me to the phrase “Methamphettery” and the concept of switch fucking.
For someone w.no signature ur awfully hostile, & that is why I do this

Just like Jed Anderson, which still doesn’t make sense to me

Anyways my contribution is that at my place if I take a shit with the door open, there’s a hallway of mirrors and I can see my tv kinda on it so sometimes I watch skaters mirrored if I gotta take care of business mid vid.

None of it do. I'm not entirely sure you even know what's going on in this thread. You'd just be watching someone paint in the opposite handedness. The same way the stance would be if it was mirrored. Dig your energy though dont know what you mean with that 3d 2d shit but it made feel nostalgia for psychedelics that was a trip to try and work out I still have no idea what you mean with that. I've thought about this for almost an entire day now. #smokerockz

I remember watching the Reynolds Fs flip video mirrored from Transworlds "Show Me the Way" and it helped me tremendously with learning fs flips properly.
