What? Transition, banks, and other fun and original obstacles at a skatepark? We need more stairs, handrails, and manual pads, cause all three of those are impossible to find anywhere else, right?

that pakr looks like soo much fun, i cant believe one could complain about having it built 5 houses down from him. that park looks truly epic.
If you get inspired to skate a certain way, how concerned are you with its popularity or acceptability within the skate world
I thought skating was popular and acceptable in the skate world. Maybe I didn't get that press release.

I know, did you ever go to Gastonia and see linebruger? That park sucked so bad. I would much rather have the one in Portland then that piece of shit.

we already have plenty of skateparks for the old johns.  let's get some parks that will progress skateboarding not just take it back to the 70's.

ffur yllib, you're an idiot.  That thing looks fun as fuck to me.  If you're bummed about the design maybe you should have gone to the planning meetings.  They were at the elementary school right by the park which would have made it right by your house.  If you want flatground and ledges, go to the Beaverton park.  If you want big drops and stairs there are plenty around Portland.  I think this thing looks super fun to skate.  Here's another image:

Also, where those black discs are, something like this will be built.

I'm psyched for that ledge on the curve. It'll be nice to skate since they put that fucking fence on the ledge by Lloyd Center. Plus having another park just means all the others will be even less crowded which I always support.

Not the shitty Drydek-designed style that the kid I was talking to was wanting. If you look at the full design of this park, you will see, banks, quarterpipes, humps, and ramps, to go along with the ledges and manual pads and rails.

Is that the same as what he is talking about with a skate plaza?

No.

Are you a dumbass bitch?

Yes.

If you lived in the PNW then you might get how bummed some us who primarily skate street are and why.
Yes the park looks fun but around these parts there are more than enough crazy tranny parks, would be sick if we had something less well rounded and more of what doesn't get built at parks. The local government has been brainwashed by A sect of older skateboarders who need more "vert" and fucking lame statues of dinosaurs included in the design. How hard is it to look at a park and see what gets skated the most? Go to any number of local parks here and you can see the usage is one sided beyond belief. 30 kids all fighting to skate some ledge or 3 block while the half of the park taller than 8 feet lies dormant until the older dudes get off work to pad up and get there hour of skating in. It's a lame situation and nothing is being done as one of the major companies building parks here not only doesn't give a shit about anything "street" related, they just plain suck at it.  It's beating a dead horse, I went back to searching out crusty street spots or building my own stuff but it's be rad to finally get a creative park filled with elements of skateboarding that you never see or are poorly represented at skate parks.

Looks fun, though I am secretly hoping all the young guns will go there instead of getting in the way at Glenhaven. And to the kook talking shit on the other parks, the progression going down at the local parks is amazing, transition is just as fun as street and just as challenging.

Huh?

I don't see any vert in that, they just need to add some more ledges, bumps, some random quarters, and maybe some creative blocks or something, and work on the flow, and you've got it.

Even Dyrdek admitted when asked what he was gonna do differently with the next skate plaze, was that it kinda gets boring real quick if it's JUST ledges and rails. Like no matter how into that shit you are, you're gonna wanna hit a curved or slanted surface every now and again, or you'll get sick of it real fast.

to clarify i dont want a plaza, just something thats not a mixed run of bumps quarters and bowls.
