You are all wrong about the music.

Cream, the velvet underground, the rolling stones, black sabbath, curtis mayfield, the kinks.  All good stuff.  I didnt like gurus song (or part so much) and danny garcias song grew on me A LOT.

I think each song went great with the persons skating, and the order of parts was perfect.

No hate for inhabitants, i used to look foward to getting ripped and watching every night the week i got it.

We got it at the shop last Friday. It hasn't left the DVD player since then. I think it's like Mosaic in the sense the more you watch it the better it gets. Awesome video. I also agree with JF about it being the H-Street video just before Questionable came out.

I have watched it probably 30 times. A lot about the video is personal preference and I can see how some would say they didn't care for the music.
Personally I like that kind of stuff and I think it caters to a certain type of skater and maybe that person falls into a lot of slap stereotypes.
Strictly skating you can't really fuck with Silas, steve durante, stefan and raymond. The talent and sheer technical tricks they do are some impressive stuff.
The video is a great mix of weird spots, creative editing and making you feel a certain vibe than assaulting you with a barrage of trick after trick.
I always want to go skate after watching it, every time.
The only part I don't watch is Kerry Getz, it's a great part but I just don't care for the guy. I'm not trying to change anyones mind, like what you wanna, I'd rather not critique things to death and put it up against another video. Theyre 2 seperate things, mosaic and photosynthesis are both amazing videos but I'm not gonna try and compare them. I'll just enjoy it for what it is.

this video is fucking sick. alot different then mosaic ,  i dont see how you can see either one was better. the skating in inhabitants is definetly better but thats just because everyone has progressed since the last video i guess you could say.  the music in mosaic was fucking sick but i like inhabitants music more just because ive always listened to the stones, sabbath and the kinks

I might come to regret it, but I'll buy it at the same time as Fully Flared.  I have a feeling FF will be hogging the dvd player for a while.

Inhabitants is the best video I've seen this year so far. I enjoyed the music and thought it fit quite well. Stefan's part was SOTY material, Steve's part was great, best part from Gall since Timecode, and everyone else delivered.

everyone except Garcia... but hey, he is still way fucking better than I'll ever be.

i liked this video a lot but it seemed like castrucci was overly cautious about making everything fit into the habitat... schtick for the lack of a better word. like in that tws interview he was like "well people were complaining that there was going to be too much acoustic guitar playing and liam, so we edited it out" or whatever. I don't know, I just got kind of bummed that the people at habitat were trying to fit a mold or something. The people at DNA always do an awesome job with their videos so I guess I was just disappointed that joe was that self-conscious about HIS video and edited (or maybe he didn't) stuff out that he would have put in otherwise, if people (probably on message boards) weren't crying about guitars or whatever. it's like when a band puts out a really good album then tries to duplicate their success by copying what made their last attempt work rather than just relying on whatever ideas/energy got them to produce that first great album to begin with. whatever, i'm rambling.

I thought all of the skating was sick. Durante and Gall had the best songs. Silas had the best parts (imo) and I think there could have been a little more variety of music, but overall it is an excellent video and I'm glad I own it.

Too true. This video is a grower... I like it more and more with each watch. It's better as a whole rather than section to section... maybe it's a bit too similar section after section, but like someone said: it's Castrucci, it's gonna be a Castrucci video.

Even though Silas' part had some amazing skating, I wasn't into it too much. I just didn't like his songs, so maybe that had something to do with it. Garcia had a great part. Like's been said elsewhere, it's not progression as such, but it's a great little part that get's you stoked to skate. Everyone else was rad too.

after watching it several times, still slightly disappointed. janoski was incredible, best part of the year so far, and silas was fantastic too. he will probaly be slept on with FF about to drop, but it holds up really well for his first part. garcia and molinar kept it pretty linear, especially molinar. he only had about a 2 minute long part that was pretty much filled with just ledge lines which was disappointing. i enjoyed both their parts but neither really did anything that interesting. the middle part of the video seriously drops off. i don't even feel like watching durante/austyn/guru/o'connor/getz' parts ever again.

i was aware of most of the music being used but they were often really bad choices for skating. molinar's song was cringeworthy, but VU worked pretty well with janoski.

That's not to say neither parts were bad though.

Also, I don't get where this Garcia hate is coming from.

Anyone care to explain, I really don't understand it at all.
