« on: December 07, 2007, 02:43:59 PM »
Is really good.
i thought it was funny that he outshined everyone and was brought back after jbs last trick for all the insane ender shit.
in particular, the 360 flip off that curved step ledge with the kicker on the one end was absolutely insane.
i just felt compelled to post.
homeboy deserves some serious recognition.

yeah, his stuff is ridiculous. i was thinking if cliche ever went out of business or anything, they would definitely put him on girl.
one-upping is rad.  so is beaming.  both so unquestionably identify the kooks...saves a lot of wasted time/small talk.  you instantly know who to avoid.

Like mentioned, his last part is just insane, cream of the video for sure. Not that it matters but I also like the fact that he's not such a clean cut dude: shitty jeans and busted shoes. I like that.

If you get inspired to skate a certain way, how concerned are you with its popularity or acceptability within the skate world
I thought skating was popular and acceptable in the skate world. Maybe I didn't get that press release.

All these comments saying they made it too tech, that it was Cheese?  They took it too far on the flip out combo shit. Are you people for real? Fuck I can't believe it, I heard people saying that shit on the night of the premier.
To me this is all is pure straight up close mindedness. Have you forgotten that these older dudes took care of every trick in skating 15 years ago. Guy said it in interviews, why would he re-film a trick he already handled years ago? Progression and style will always win over what everyone else is doing, becasue real skaters know how hard it is to do an original trick.
People can have thier opinions, but if you thoought the video was too tech, I'd say your just pissed , because you know damn well you will never be able to do a pop shuv body variel to switch crook. Exactly like an old and bitter bowl launcher was after watching Questionable or Virtual reality, complaining about Newschool.
For me, skating is not supposed to follow rules. I want to see some new shit- not bigger shit-  If you can't take the progression, then fine, but now is a good time to admit your now officially the new FUCKING OLDSCHOOL.

Yeah was probably the wrong thread... but how many threads are about this video? They all seem to be?

Since the first time I heard anyone say Lucas could possibly be the next Guy, I've thought so too. This part made his last parts seem like he was just relaxing. So much new shit. I loved the boardslide, pop over to back lip hop out in the middle. So sick, and the nollie 180 switch crook revert in the middle.

I found this on youtube.

I like how he's young making sketching out look good, how rare is that?

Every kid deserves to be a hero... every kid already is.
I remember a place...a town, a house like a lot of other houses....a yard like a lot of other yards...a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is....after all these years, I still look back...with wonder.
