Lilja 4-ever was sick. That girl played the part so perfectly it was ridiculous.

for some reason that lilja 4ever movie wasn´t as good as I thought it would be.

Has anyone uploaded movies to megaupload?

I think it could easily be criticized for how predictable the plot is, everything is pretty obvious. It was really well done in all other aspects though, I enjoyed it a lot.

Here's one of my favourites.

Synopsis: Kinji Fukasaki's explosive drama takes place early in the new millennium, with Japan on the verge of societal collapse. When even the schoolchildren begin to abuse the system, the government introduces a strict new punishment whereby a randomly chosen group of students are taken to a desert island and forced to fight each other to the death. Based on Koushun Takami's novel, the film stars famous Japanese author and actor Takeshi "Beat" Kitano.

Zia (Patrick Fugit), distraught over breaking up with his girlfriend, decides to end it all. Unfor- tunately, he discovers there is no real ending, only a run-down afterlife that is strikingly similar to his old one, just a bit worse. Discovering that his ex-girlfriend has also “offed” herself , he sets out on a road trip, with his Russian rocker friend, to find her. Their journey takes them through an absurd purgatory where they discover that being dead doesn’t mean you have to stop livin’.

I just watched science of sleep. I really like the whole idea of it and how he transfered his dreams into real life. I found the end very inconclusive. Maybe I just missed something.

It seems like it falls victim to the indie movie trend where it has to have an inconclusive ending that in theory should make you think, but more often than not confuses the hell out of you.

Oh my god this sounds fucking intense. I'm gonna watch this for sure later.

So far I've watched Funny Games and Lilja 4ever. Funny Games was alright, but I really loved Lilja.
Yeah, I mean, you did pretty much know what was going to happen, but a movie doesn't need to have a surprise ending for it to be a good movie.
I downloaded a torrent of Oldboy a couple days ago, I'll try and upload it.
Google video seems to hate me, so no promises, but I'll try my best.
But yeah, great thread.

Agreed.  Watch Suicide Circle instead of Battle Royale 2.

Agreed.  Watch Suicide Circle instead of Battle Royale 2.

I tried to post that one, but couldn't find an easy link. Such a fucked up/darkly hilarious movie. The train scene at the start alone is ahsudiahda

Edit: I'm torrenting it. I'll put it on google video in a day or 2 when it's done.

Here's a pretty universally loved movie, another favourite of mine for sure.

Brazil, 1960's, City of God. The Tender Trio robs motels and gas trucks. Younger kids watch and learn well...too well. 1970's: Li'l Zé has prospered very well and owns the city. He causes violence and fear as he wipes out rival gangs without mercy. His best friend Bené is the only one to keep him on the good side of sanity. Rocket has watched these two gain power for years, and he wants no part of it. Yet he keeps getting swept up in the madness. All he wants to do is take pictures. 1980's: Things are out of control between the last two remaining gangs...will it ever end? Welcome to the City of God.

What does synchronized mean in this context?
He spoke the voice of the boy. The son of the family. Erm I don´t know what the appropriate word is, but they recorded the movie, and the voice of the actor didn´t have the right accent to match the rest of the family (he spoke some dialect I dunno) and they did a casting and then they chose my brother to dub it (the dictionary says dub, sync, synchronize, choose your word).

Synopsis: Dave Spritz is a local weatherman in his home town of Chicago, where his career is going well while his personal life -- his relationship with his perfectionist writer father, his neurotic ex-wife, and his now-separated children -- is spiraling downward. Despite being both loathed and loved by the local masses, Dave is a guy who doesn't seem to have it all together, and in this film, he begins to feel it. An attractive job offer presents Dave with a major question: to pursue his career in New York City, or to remain at home with his family.

Starring: Nicolas Cage, Michael Caine, Hope Davis, Gemmenne de la Pena, Nicholas Hoult, Michael Rispoli, Gil Bellows, Judith McConnell

Running Time: 101 minutes

Director: Gore Verbinski
