I've skated nothing but vans slip pros and winos for years, but I think the thin shoes are catching up to me. I'm thinking of pick up the emrica g6 winos, anyone know how much they'll protect my feet?
[close]

I got a pair of laced wino G6s and have put them on ebay. They squeeze my toes and don't really support the middle of my foot. They seem to be ok made, comfier than the Dicksons (IMHO). I never really like the way emerica use cardboard under the insole though. Always seems a bit cheap. I was told its so SoleTech pay less tax on them, but this maybe bollox.

Thanks for the reply, I just bought some Dicksons. I'm realizing it wasn't just the thinness of the shoes that were giving me some issues, but it was them not being wide enough

Can someone advice with Cons LL's fit? I had One Star CC before in my own size and they maybe a little narrow and just a bit long, but 1/2size smaller was too tight. Is it going to be same with LL's?
[close]

The Louies are kind of slim, but half size down from normal size is a perfect fit for me. I have skated 6 pairs in a row now
[close]

Ok, I got them in my size, will see how they fit. Should get them in a few days.

They fit perfectly in my usual size. Might get another pair if they skate well. There's just a bit of empty space for my bigtoe which is good. Black Crockett HIs will also be next shoes.

Adidas Tonnesen Samba ADV, modified with a seam ripper

these are waaaaaay better than the usual Samba ADVs because it's all one piece, rather than the clunky (and separate) t-toe
and the suede is super soft rather than the stiff faux-leather or whatever on the usual samba ADVs

sole is also grippy for a cup
hardly art, hardly starving

Just got mine in the mail today and wow what a great looking shoe! Wanted to grab the other color as well but sold out everywhere in my size(10.5). Wore em today for a couple hours and they feel a lot comfier than the lows imo. Grabbed another pair of the blacks to skate.

I wear a 10.5 as well and having these in the lows was the greatest shoe that’s happened to me lately so uh why the fuxk don’t they make more colors. ??? And I’m wearing the chima 2 fresh off of those and it’s horrible

I picked those up like 6 months ago at Burlington coat factory for $15. They were awful after the initial stoke wore off. Super shitty insole, thin unsupportive cup. honestly hurt my knees just walking in them.

all adidas shoes i had in the last few years sucked ass and felt like they make me walk funny.

they are all comfy for the first 5 minutes and then i always start to get footcramps in them. the insoles are always trash, tongues usually slip all over the place and they never look appealing from the top down. for some reason they always look good from an outsider view, no matter how weird they might fit or be laced up. so they got that going for them.

i feel tricked by adidas, like they make shoes that pretend to be fine for exactly the time it takes for you to wear them so much that you can't take them back when you notice they actually suck. so then you keep on wearing them despite them being ass, since you already have them. good thing most my pairs were rep hand me downs, so i didn't lose much money on adidas shoes. but i bought superstar advs and those shoes can go eat a dick.

tjs and those st models are probably better from what i hear, never had those, that soccer shoe is not my thing but looks better, too.

Okay yeah you just confirmed that I in fact don't want to try the superstar advs. It seems like every 6 months I get this itch to try some adidas because like you said, they look cool on other people. As soon as I try them on they feel like shit, my heel slips out of every model while simultaneously feeling too small, and the top-down view is terrible with all the stripes. I was about to pull the trigger but thanks for saving me 60 bucks!

I love those Gustav Sambas - but what I truly hate about Adidas is their sizing: they don't have equal increments between the sizes. The difference between size 8 and size 8.5 is .20" while the difference between 9 and 9.5 is .10" - so stupid. Why not just keep the increments the same? If a nike 8 is the same size as adidas' 8, you'd think all the sizes would be equal.

LOL at everybody's brand new Birks.. are you really even a Birk-head if they're not decaying and spraying cork particles with every step?

Forreal though, Birks along with Clarks are shoes that just get more comfortable with age. Great shoes.

When worn properly with white socks, Birk's will outlast the person wearing them by 150 years or more. I am ordering a pair of Boston's and I fully expect at least 2 generation's of usage.

Thanks, they are easily my most comfortable shoes I own. They're basically my house shoes.

Got the Spanky G6 today and they feel so good and look great, I might keep them as chillers though.

That's not the story for me. One summer of chilling in my berks and I'm through to the cork. I don't think I walk like Quasimodo, but maybe I do. I have now moved on to the EVA version which is good but nowhere near as plush. You can get them wet  which is handy when launching my yacht with all the berk appreciating babes watching on.
