I just put a super thin insole on top of the glued-in one and it feels amazing.
[close]
Anyone who has two insoles in one shoe cannot be trusted.

It doesn't count if the first one is thin and glued in, the extra one on top is just to complete the deal. Stickin to one is like having hot chocolate without the cream.

Glued in insole only:

Double up:

Yeah sure, you can sleep in the single, but I'm going Kevin McCallister in that mothafucka with the doubles. Whipped cream in my hot coco, banana splits, chocolate chip cookies - all that shit.

You gotta ask yourself: what kinda life you tryna live my dude, you wanna settle or you wanna live it up like a fat 1500's king?

I'm trying to not roll my ankle by having my foot where it was designed to be. Doubling up on insoles reduces the stability of a shoe.

Forcing myself to switch to cupsoles and am going to put these into rotation. I got them on eBay for $45 maybe a year or two ago. After years of skating vulcanized shoes it is a trip seeing my feet in these.
I know we aren't madness shaming in the gear section, come on were better than this.

Look dope, the quality looking wool socks are a nice touch. Wool socks....are just so much better.

I skate better in cupsoles, and my feet feel better. I do like switching my footwear up a bit (sounds like youíve got the rotation), that helps a lot. Iíve been losing weight so I may be able to get away with some half cabs....

Anyone do foot exercises? I lose interest, almost immediately, but bad feet in the family so I should stick with it.

Just regular Goldtoe crew socks, I am a fucking sweat loaf and even in the winter I would die.

I broke my leg and sprained my ankle in Feb 2016, started doing exercises with a theraband and haven't stopped.

I've been skating the Louie Cons and while I love them in general, they're way too thin for my old man feet and now I'm nursing brutal heel bruise.  Does anyone have suggestions on a vulc/thin cup (willing to try anything tbh, just need a lot of board feel) that won't destroy my feet and leave me hobbling?

If you like the slim profile of the LL, Emerica Laced might be a nice thin cup for you. Havenít had the Vans AVE but sounds like that might be up your alley.

+ 1 to the NB# 440 and Ave Pro, and Romero laced (but that lack of collar bothers me personally).

I'll also add Lakai Atlantic, Proto, and maybe Carrol XLK since Lakais usually have great board feel but aren't the most protective, BUT these are flexible cupsoles with decent protection. The cup soles are more durable and more forgiving on feet than their vulcs.

Globe (I know...) Empire or Eagle SG.
Es Accel Slim
Nike SB Team Classic
Van's KWalks 1 and Gilbert Crockett 2 (cup/vulc hybrid)
Colt 45 Cannon

Fucking right?! I wanted to love it so much but it just tears into my Achilles I couldnít do it.  Also 440 is great it and the wino slips (cupsole version next year I think?)are the only shoe Ive bought multiple pairs of.  I also have the ace pros. They feel amazing. I tore the mesh day one. And in summer they feel good in the winter my feet will get cold. I wouldnít pay $100 for them. I would pay $75. If they ever fix the mesh situation and make a decent non clear sole Iím in.

Fortunately, the need to buy new shoes to skate is inevitable.  Any non-440 cupsole suggestions?  I'm making a list of sneakers and I'm going to slowly pick them off, hopefully finding my ideal shoe

If you end up liking the 440, there is a "Dunkalikes" thread. You can search for it. First page of that thread has some good cupsoles listed that are alternatives to dunks. 440 and dunks are somewhat similar in paneling/fit/feel, so there may be some good options for you there.

For the 440 toe panel stitching, super glue/krazy glue, and/or shoe goo can take that area a long way with regular, minimal application before/as you skate them.

got them in size 13 and they fit perfectly. have to go down a size on most nikes, lined them up with my aj1 lows and they were the same length.

the tyshawns feel miles more comfortable but thats comparing suede to cheap pleather. go for the suede/tts combo, its working great for me. might end up being my favorite skate shoes ever

Im with off on (lol) this one.  Tyshawns are amazing shoes.  They're padded up top but the sole and upper are fairly low key so you get good feel both on bottom and with flicking.

I'm skating these:
