How do they skate? They look too thick to have that vulc like board feel that cupsoles have nowadays.

I only held them, but they're way more flexible and lighter than they look, so they probably skate great

Great shoe. Swap out the laces for some shorter ones and it's good to go.

So far they skate really good. Nice and flexible from the box. Outsole isn't slippery. Suede feels nice and durable. They come up a little higher around the ankle than most lows, but do not restrict mobility at all. They're a bit thicker than a vulc-like cupsole, but the boardfeel is pretty awesome for such a supportive feeling shoe. I think once I get a few more sessions on them the boardfeel will develop even more. Stoked on these :)

Yeah my heel has been throbbing in pain lately, I'm definitely looking for a supportive shoe. Does the shoe have arch support?

if your heel is been bothering ya.. maybe try some Nike BAs? you can find them online for around 60 or less. lots of cush in the heel..

these new cons look interesting though.

Skated the new MJ's for the first time a couple days ago. Skates a lot like the Camby, but more perfected, if that makes sense. Way better grip and looks really good on foot.

So these will be strictly chillers. I got them on sale. They had a big stupid S on the side that kind of bummed me out (which is why I think they were on sale), but it turns out it was a sticker and peeled right off, leaving no marks at all. Score one for Vans.
The leather is super buttery and the ortholite is comfy. Nicest pair of Vans I've ever owned.

I would say they have a medium/normal amount of arch support. The arch doesn't feel flat, but isn't so high or narrow that it puts an unnecessary amount of pressure on the foot. The overall support that I'm feeling from these goes all the way up though my knees and hips too. It feels really good. The shoes also have a Lunarlon insole which would probably add some relief to your heels. The tongue has a nice gusset-like centering thing too with some ventilation that I think is a really nice touch also.

a buddy knows I'm an Adidas fan, so he sent me pics of his Adidas ZX Vulc after only two days of approx 2hr ledge sessions.

real bummer on the seam/canvas weak spot.

Yeah, the zx vulcs are really lacking due to the quality of the suede used on the shoe. I am skating a pair right now and after a couple hours of skating I have worn a hole through the suede and the plastic material underneath. I hope Adidas addresses this issue because the shoe feels really good otherwise.

Flatspot had a sale on so picked up these two.

The Vulcs are so good for skating, don't know why it's taken me this long to try them. The ADVs will probably just be used for chilling, they've got nowhere near as much board feel.

I'm in the same boat. Got a toe hole in two sessions. Sucks cause the shoes feel incredible.

Busenitz ADVs are the shit.

Mine lasted only one deck (about 15 sessions) before I got a hole on the sole. Usually I skate 2 boards per 1 pair of shoes and even then there's no hole all the way through. I can't recall any other shoe where the sole wore out so fast.

Do you mean the Bus vulcs?  Those burn through fast.  The ADVs last really long in my experience.

No, the ADVs. I hear the vulc sole is really bad but my ADVs were the same way. I had the black with gold stripes and and all white sole colorway. My buddy had the burgundy ones where the bottom of the sole is gum and those seemed to last fine. I don't know if that's the difference or maybe I just had a bad pair.

^ in my experience, the ADVs have been one of my all time favorite shoe.  the buz vulc sole definitely balds really fast, but they are so grippy while they last.  i've heard Adidas is going to try to solve the problem with upcoming runs.  hopefully they strike a good balance.

not that anyone asked, but my fav Adidas models i've skated ranked

1. Buz ADV
2. Puig
3. Ronan
4. Buz Pro
5. Buz Vulc (ignoring the sole)
6. Silas SLR
7. Adi-ease
8. Silas 2
9. Campus Vulc (first run)
10. Campus vulc mid

Last summer I had a pair of the Silas Rayado and the sole was unbelievable. It had phenomenal grip with some of the best board feel I've ever skated. Only gripe was the outsole/sidewall just burned through really fast in the toe area from flip tricks.

Every time I've tried the Busenitz ADV on at a shop I've immediately taken them off again because they feel so funny around the ankle area.
