Just started skating these. Super slippery at first but once they break in, they feel great. Not sure on durability, but not expecting too much. Really light and good flick though.

Been skating lunar one shots in grey. Sole is pretty grippy and flexible from the start, fits quite nice too. They feel really light after my last shoe was a pair of G6s. All in all pretty good but as soon as you get through the hyperscreen the synthetic suede doesn't last a day.

I got a pair of the Gonz slip-ons (the laced ones) from a local rep. After 2-3 hours of skating, the soles are still rock hard, the toe cap still hasn't worn in at all, and the shoe is just all around uncomfortable. I pity anyone who actually buys these at retail.

Did you just call a shoe a slip on and then mention it had laces

picked up a pair of these sk8mids from the vans outlet for 40
then used some spare printing ink to dye them black

They've skated well so far, but I'm just now starting to feel "the pinky stitch" (the one that almost always ruins shoes with the sk8's toe, and seemingly, 50% of Cons chucks)

i took a little dremmel tool and grinded out the stitching and the panel that sticks out from the inside, worked pretty well

I just a couple thin strips of duct tape on the inside of the shoe over that toe rubbing spot.  Works pretty well.  Haven't had a pair of sk8-hi's in forever!  I love those shoes

how's that holding up color wise, ive been thinking about dying the million pairs of spare laces ive got, they're grey right now but was thinking of just putting them in a bucket of black dye and see what happens.

Anyone done anything similar?

Only got to skate em for about a 20 minutes so far; I've had numerous pairs of Manchesters and that's what these remind me of.

just grab your dremel, feel around in the toe where the stitching and suede panel that sticks out  and grind that bitch down a little bit so its smooth an does not stick out and rub your pinky toe. Maybe sweater cuff can do a tutorial for all the peeps having the same problem

Why?

They look like they will skate good, at first they were very unconfortable so i had to microwave them a few times, all good now. They look very durable...

These are so damn nice looking. I can't tell from the pic, are they the kangaroo leather or suede? Either way, beautiful.

I am torn on whether or not I like the Griffin. I am pretty much a shill for just about everything Lakai puts out, but the Griffin doesn't seem to fit my foot for some reason. I love the looks of them, but the functionality isn't there for me. The sole feels way too thick and the upper feels really short, if that makes any sense. The shoe literally feels like it's all sole. And with the collar being so low around my ankle I feel like I am going to walk right out of them.
