Those are beutiful, how do they skate ? I've got the brown ones but i havent skated them yet
[close]

I got two pair for $60 and I hate them. Both of them. They just sit there now reminding me of all the other shit I could have spent $60 on.
[close]

I am torn on whether or not I like the Griffin. I am pretty much a shill for just about everything Lakai puts out, but the Griffin doesn't seem to fit my foot for some reason. I love the looks of them, but the functionality isn't there for me. The sole feels way too thick and the upper feels really short, if that makes any sense. The shoe literally feels like it's all sole. And with the collar being so low around my ankle I feel like I am going to walk right out of them.

^^ Exactly.

The sole feels like you're standing on an inch and a half of dense rubber. Like some rockabilly creepers or something.

These are so damn nice looking. I can't tell from the pic, are they the kangaroo leather or suede? Either way, beautiful.

This thread is no good for my wallet. ;D

suede.  i'm curious how well the OG Buz do sales-wise these days.  they were one of the first "new/unique" skate designs in a long time when they came out.  I rarely see anyone skating in them in person though, which seems strange with the newfound love of cupsoles...they have great cushioning and their cupsole boardfeel is only subpar to the Lucas.  It is rad to see them more often in footage with Rodrigo joining up.

I have the leather ones as well and they are ultra-comfy.  wont be skating those as they are my soccer shoes.

I got a pair of the Gonz slip-ons (the laced ones) from a local rep. After 2-3 hours of skating, the soles are still rock hard, the toe cap still hasn't worn in at all, and the shoe is just all around uncomfortable. I pity anyone who actually buys these at retail.

I bought two pair of these however many years ago. I killed one and barely skated the other, and I just found the second pair again. So stoked.

Picked these up on sale yesterday. A great looking shoe; The color of the blue suede is too sick. That said I haven't skated a pair of converse since I was 14 and I'm not sure if my old man feet will stand for it. Cruised around in them to run some errands this afternoon and they were pretty comfy though so we'll see...

I know I might get a bit of flack for this but I'm going to ask anyway.

I recently found some second-hand leather Old Skools at a thrift store I frequent and I grabbed them because I needed some more "classy" shoes for when I go out for special occasions and maybe even job interviews.

However, the local distributor for HUF is having a online sample sale and have a few pairs of Dylans for stupidly low prices and I was considering scooping up the lot. They're all size 9s and I'm normally around a size 9.5/10 so I'm not too sure about the fit. I couldn't find a sizing guide on the HUF website (for footwear anyway) so that didn't help.

On the flip side, I could buy the lot and just pass them on to the Pals here for cheap?

Thinnest shoes I've skated in awhile but they are nice for skating transition parks, and chilling.

I really liked the Leo Laced shoe.

I got these

They're really comfortable. I pushed around in them today and they feel good. The insole is way thicker than you might think, which is nice. The toe has a really sticky flick on it, thanks to the toecap, so it helped me lift my kickflip up a bit higher, with more flicky toe control.
I think they'll be great. Shame they're so expensive, but Huf seems like a rad dude, so I'll throw him a buck.

Hey so do you know how these compare to Chuck Ts? Because I skated a pair of those for a day (thankfully they were free) and couldn't used to having a full on rubber toe cap. Like it was weird to me to not be able to feel the side of my foot - more so my toes - make contact with the board while ollieing or whatever. Does it still feel like that without the full rubber cap?

I said it on another thread but I don't like chucks and love the classics. The rubber doesn't seem as thick and it's pretty grippy. They seem more flexible as well. The only people I see hate on them hate them because of the price, which is understandable but still worth it imo. Everyone I've talked to that has actually tried them really likes them. I'd say give them a try.

They're lacking in the insole department, but that's an easy fix. They're overall kind of stiff. Takes a while to properly break them in. The toe shape is really nice and the materials are all really good. Just the insole and the heel cup rubbing that all vans do are the only downsides.

just out of curiosity how is the grip on these?  I like the way they look, but I when I was eyeing them at the shop I thought the tread was a really weird/flat pattern.  Like you would be sliding all over?

The toe piece is good. The bottom tread is starting to wear down but they are still pretty decent. I think they're okay but others might not like the bottom tread if you reposition your foot a lot. They will wear down pretty quick in that case.
