how's the overall cushioning on those Free SB's Tate?

The insole in it is paper-thin. Threw them away.

I put some FP insoles in them and they feel even better.

I'm thinking of buying a shoe for standing around (heels and calves get sore after a while), should I bother with this shoe or are the janoski air max's a better choice?

Haven't skated or tried on the free's but I know the sole used for the janoski air max is gonna be a lot more cushioned, especially in the heel. I got the prod 7 hyperfuse that use the same sole and walk around in those all the time. id imagine the free's are gonna be fairly thin. Good boardfeel for skating, but if you're just gonna wear them for walking around in you'll prolly want something more cushioned.

If this is for daily wear like work or something, consider going to a running shoe store and have them fit you for some pro insole inserts.  They'll probably be around $100 but if you've got chronic soreness it'll really help more than any shoe.

dont get fucking foot print or remind or any of that bullshit unless youre doing it to support a skater or something
nothing beats getting the fitted insole inserts. if you buy the cheap ones you end up paying more in the long run, this economic principle holds especially true when it comes to anything that separates you from the ground

Do the Era Pro's fit true to size, or should I go down a half a size?

I heard it was half a size, I am also wondering if it's all of the classic pro shoes, like the old skool and sk8 hi pro also.

My era pro's are 8.5 which is the size I am in almost every shoe.  Hope that helps

yeaahhh for some reason no shoe or insert has ever worked for me.  I have big arches so a lot of pressure builds up along the outer edges of my feet and heel and it sucks after a day of standing up.

I haven't worn Vans in at least a decade but the AVE shoe caught my eye last night at the shop as did the Era.

How is Vans durability these days?

They look great Coneklr. Good choice. I think they skate great. Do you feel like they fit you long in the toe box? Coming out of the SLR I was expecting a really snug fit the whole way around. They feel good along the sides and heel, just had to size down because of the length. I never have to size down but the only other shoe I've ever had to size down on was an Adidas shoe - the Seeley.

Another fit question regarding the Lucas Pro for the Adidas heads on here....do they fit snug, similar to Silas SLR or is it more of a 'general' fit like an Adi Ease?

Yes!  I've had 8.5 with almost all of my Adidas and these are a bit snug width wise ( I'm betting will fit perfect after a session or two ) but are definitely long in the toe.  I could for sure do an 8 if I had a narrower foot.  Other than that, I'm really into the shoe so far!

Whats wrong with the burgundy ones? They still look good to me. They're in better shape than mine right now and I feel they got a lot left in them.

Ha, I could for sure skate em for longer.. In that picture they look pretty new, but I skated them almost every day for a solid month and a half. At least 35 hours. But they're completely sweat stained, I've gone through two sets of laces on them, and I needed a change from looking down at red shoes for that long. I may even end up going back to them, but for now they're in retirement.

wear-testing the nb's, and got the dc's from one of their sales for pretty cheap. Haven't really been able to skate any of them yet since its shitty/snowy out
