Such a sick shoe, shame that they were around only for a little while. This is my second and last pair.

Sitting on a pair right now, just waiting for the right time to bust em out.

I switched the original insoles for some thinner Supra ones, walked them around and now they are perfect. Top notch shoe.

Does anyone know if it's easy the rip the insole out of OG Vans? I want some Sk8 Highs but for some reason the pro versions of them look weird to me...

idk about the sk8 highs but I know old skools are a pain in the ass. Shits glued in the shoe and tearing them out to replace it with other insoles makes the shoe feel too thin. Just stacking an insole on top of the existing one is too thick. Better to just use what it comes with until they're dead. Maybe others will disagree about replacing the insoles but they never felt right to me. I think getting the pro version is the best choice. I've heard pretty good things about them.

I can stand the pro's and only fucks with classics, but that's just the pea THIS princesses feels. You'll have to sleep in them yourself to see if you'll get to marry the prince in 'em or not.

If you put a regular insole on top, its too thick. If you can get ahold of a thinner one like in the emerica g6 or something, put it on top of there and then maybe go half size up, you're good to go.

Classics all day!  Microwave the shoe real quick, get your fingers underneath the back of the insole by the heal, and pull that up.  Make sure to aviod the stitching that holds the sides of the shoe to the actual sole.  This is the  rubber back half of the insole which isn't usually glued down to the point of being un-removable.

The front half of the insole is blue foam, and usually pretty well attached.  The back and front of the insole are attached on the top with a canvas layer or something. If you're very careful and lucky, sometimes the top layer holds the foam in one piece and you get the whole thing in one pull.  If not (i.e. typically you will have to) get a butter knife or something and just scrape out all the blue foam, jab and scrape the sole a bunch and pour all the foam flakes into a trashcan or whatever.

The foam will fall like little blue flakes of tiny snow, promising only great sessions ahead

Easiest way i've found to remove classics insoles, not that i've skated many since the pros have come out, is to walk around in them all day, the heat coming off my feet softens the glue and they usually pop right out

also, a flathead screwdriver removes any leftover sole pretty quickly.

I feel the same way. I used to like the slip on pro's a lot before the duracap existed but that duracap throws me off. I think years of skating classics has me conditioned

They're reeaaallly light. I can barely feel them on my feet. Light and thin. About as much ankle support as regular ones.

So Far, So Comfy

Fucked the side of my foot (old age) so have had a clearout of the shoes that hurt and dropped the cash on these.  Not had a chance to skate them yet (foot needs another couple of weeks to heal ideally).

I've read about that Adidas boost technology for other shoes and it seems like it'd be really good. Hopefully they keep using it for more skate models

Just wanted to post about this since I asked a page or two back about ripping the insoles out of Vans classics. I ended up getting a pair of sk8 highs and just tried dropping the good Vans insoles (i think they're the ultracush ones or something) in on top of the ones glued in the shoe and it works fine. My toes don't feel very jammed up but I also like pretty snug shoes, and they're not overly thick either with double insoles. Figured this might be helpful to share for some other peeps out there.
