those blazers are clean af tuque!

Gilbert shut it down in the Vans video and this colorway was too good to resist so i had to pick up some more mids for #ShortsSeason. haven't skated vans in at least 5-6 years so I'm interested to see how this wafflecup (i.e. cupsole with foxing tape) performs. forefoot is thin as shit and the heel still has that "thin cupsole" feel but the super gummy insole feels good in the back half of the shoe. just got them so i might have to skate them a few times and post back in here to comment on durability & overall skateability. They feel good and look well-constructed with quality materials so far tho. I like it when Vans makes shoes like the billion dollar company they are.

^^^ Will:  Looking forward to your take on the waffle cup.  I always like your approach/take on shoes, so it'll be interesting to see what types of things make it good/bad for you.

I also picked up a pair of Crocketts after the Vans video.  I wonder if any other part sold shoes like his part obviously did.

My thoughts on the Crocketts were really stiff and not breathable although I only skated them once and f'd up my back and haven't worn them since.  I loved the look of the shoe though.

Will, I thought of you when I was trying those Globe Haslam's because I know you're down with mid cupsoles.  If you can get over them being Globe's I really think they are an amazing shoe.

i was eyeing the Supra Ellington for some time now since i wanted to skate a midtop again. was pleasantly surprised to see these show up at my doorstep (thanks Supra!), the vulc version seems perfect.
so i guess i`ll be alternating between this one and the Fallen Burman now. then i`ll be sick of midtops for another 2 years i guess. we`ll see.

and yes, i was also pretty close to getting Vans Crockets too haha, goddamn Propeller. but hey, free shoes are free shoes, i sure as hell won`t complain.

Do you have a picture of the Fallen Burman Shoe?

[Edit] Just saw it in Upcoming Shoes

Free OG's!!! Best pair of shoes i have.

They're actually Free Trail 5.0s...Pretty interesting shoe.  Wish I had the all white as well.  Free OG's are nice too, though.  Missed out on the APC ones and I'm not going to pay the crazy resell prices or whatever.

+ thanks,  Will

Oh the photo is a little blurry on my phone. I thought they were the black APC ones because of the sock type tongue, but forgot they have a white outsole. The ones i have (2014 edition) have a different tongue and outsole. Free trails are really nice tho! The white/cream ones are killer. Nike should re-release them.

Was actually thinking about trying a pair of these, just to switch it up a little.  Do they have a reinforced heel? Also, how wide/narrow would you say they fit? I haven't had a pair of Globes in like eight years but remember them having a nice, roomier toebox, but then again that was eight years ago and the overall shape of skate shoes have changed since then, so yeah.

What size is your foot, if you're an 8.5 and want to give them a go before spending full price, I'm getting rid of my pair I only skated a few times ( nothing wrong other than minor wear on the left foot, I just have a problem with buying shoes all the time and wanted to try the Lucas's )?  What are you used to wearing?  I'd say they fit a bit wider or are at least a bit more forgiving.  I normally wear 8.5 in everything and this was the same.  But usually in Huf/nike/vans the 8.5 will be good lengthwise but on my right foot it needs to break in a little as it's a bit narrow, these were good out of the box in every way I can think of if you like mids.

I'm a size 10 in half cabs, which I'm currently skating.  Never had a problem with Vans being too narrow, so I usually stick with them or Lakai; Nike and Adidas were too narrow in the toebox for me and cramped my toes, unless I sized up.  But then I feel like the shoe is too long/looks too big, so I don't really like doing that.  I think my feet are just fucking weird, idk.

My left ankle has been rolled something gnarly a couple times, so, yeah, I like to fuck with mid tops when I can.  Anyways, thanks for the info!

Blazers were the best shoes i've skated back then but now i think i cant skate them anymore. I have a pair of the black/white ones (not the SE's) that i've been chilling for some months now and i've tried to skate in them sometimes but they dont work for me like they used to. I struggle much more to do my flip tricks. I think i'm just too used to my BA's! I still love them tho!

I can tell they're pretty much perfect already. As soon as my big toe heals (dropped a 5-foot round folding table on it), I will confirm. Regardless: goodbye forever, Nike. Have fun putting pros' names on clearance rack shoes from the 70s.

New in, im in love with how slim and low profile these look. They fit true to size and feel like already broken in. Never tried the older vulc version but these feel great and are super light, any feedback on the durability?

Also, my current rotation

I've been skating this pair of janoskis since spetember, i cant remember having such a long lasting pair of skateshoes. Going to skate this pair of non sb star player next with a thin insole over the pre existent one.

i skated these for quite some time, i would say 1.5 times of most other shoes and they still had enough life in them to us as walkaround shoes. so yeah, i would call them rather durable.

Yeah I don't think I ever tore a hole in my last pair of the Laced but the sole was and kinda slick. I got some Nike Bruins from the thrift store and the sole felt way thicker.

I just got these, feel thin and a little slick too but I realized I don't really care.

After skating nothing but Emerica for the past year I was feeling something different, so I picked up a pair of Lakai Griffins yesterday. Digging 'em so far.

Also got a pair of Vans Slip Ons for chillers, except for the one time I skated a box with them for fifteen minutes.

I just put these NB# PJ Stratford 533 into my skate rotation. I skated about 5 pair of the previous Stratford and there's no comparison. Just like the Logan and the rest of the catalog, NB# couldn't have turned this into a better shoe. The overall fit has been improved, the heel lock is GREATLY improved, the midsole feels a little beefier to me and the RevLite outsole is my favorite. NB# is killing it and making great skate shoes.

I only have a little over 2 hours on these but on a fresh sheet of grip and there is literally nothing showing.

That shoe is my favorite shoe I have skated over the past year or so.

No cons about the shoe at all, the new RevLite is the best and grippy as hell. Takes forever to rip through the flick area.
