Wearing the blue Centrics today
[close]

I see you didn't bought the Wolf S... I went to my local shop last week thinking in buying them but my size was gone. Bummed.
[close]

I want to get the Wolf. Unfortunately life hammers have me kinda short on the cash so I went with getting two pairs instead of one. I'm gonna skate them after work today and see how they are.

They're both really good to skate in.

I've had 5/6 pairs of the Lynx. Not the most durable shoe ever but they skate really well out of the box.

DC have been making some of the best skate shoes of late.

Definitely, I'm loving the Centric. I was skate the Matt Millers but they were so worn down that I lost all my flick and catch. Yesterday I got to skate with new shoes and everything was working better. The only issue I have with the Lynx is the toe stuffing is brand new so it's really tight. I threw my Matt Miller insoles in to see how they felt and they felt amazing so I just have to wear them and break them in I guess.

I just put these NB# PJ Stratford 533 into my skate rotation. I skated about 5 pair of the previous Stratford and there's no comparison. Just like the Logan and the rest of the catalog, NB# couldn't have turned this into a better shoe. The overall fit has been improved, the heel lock is GREATLY improved, the midsole feels a little beefier to me and the RevLite outsole is my favorite. NB# is killing it and making great skate shoes.

I only have a little over 2 hours on these but on a fresh sheet of grip and there is literally nothing showing.

You got me very curious in these. How do they fit? True to size?

Yep, 100% true to size. I wear a 10 in everything and these 10 fit me perfectly. No negative or empty space in the shoe and the heel lock is great.

Hey so I skated in a pair of non-skate chucks that I got from a friend and they were cool to skate in on a roller hockey rink aka a very smooth surface, but not very cool at the actual skatepark, which is only sort of rough asphalt. I could feel everything and like couldn't even skate in them because there were too many vibrations going on. Do the skate chucks have better dampening because of the lunarlon and stuff like that?

I've never skated Cons, but I can guarantee that the skate Chucks skate better than normal ones. How do I know this?? The fact that they're made for skateboarding should be a dead give away.

I've noticed the same thing with normal chucks, the skate ones are a vast improvement on shit ground.

not a bad summer shoe

correction...they are garbage.  not that i expected much out of them in terms of durability, but the entire side stich/seam is ripping open and it goes right to your foot.  this is after approx 4 hours of skating in them.  I even super-glued the area once I saw a lil wear there.  also, the armored canvas doesnt breath at all.  ive had regular old skools last longer.

I had to stop skating my Chima's. At first they were stiff and hurt my heel, when that went away they rubbed the crap outta the side of my toes. The duracap underneath seems wayyy too stiff and the shoe never felt broken in but started looking like crap. Pretty bummed, Vans seems to be hit or miss for me lately.

The duracap makes them sweaty as hell. My friend toughed it out with them and shoe started to work well when the duracap broke in multiple places, that got rid of the stiffness. I only wear mine as chillers, even as such they're not very comfortable. They look cool though.

Ok so I haven't been skating as often as I usually do because Ive been busy with other things in life, but I feel like I've skated these Gilbert's enough to at least give yall a decent idea of how they skate/feel.

So far what I like the most about these is the excellent flick & the plush padding around the ankles. The toe shape itself is pretty much perfect IMO. The waffle cup construction is decent with adequate cushioning throughout the back half of the shoe. It feels like a thin cupsole in that area. That being said, these are easily the thinnest shoes I own right now. I exclusively skate cupsoles and when I'm not skating I'm wearing other well-cushioned shoes and I definitely miss that stepping comfort in the forefoot. I feel weird walking around in roshe's then putting these on and immediately feeling like its harder on my feet. The back half of the shoe is adequately cushioned from the Ultracush insole but it literally just feels like a thin piece of rubber in the forefoot. I guess this is nothing new to those who wear vulcs & shit but its definitely something I'm not hyped on. I don't mind it when I'm skating and I guess the extra boardfeel is nice, but if they were as thick as a dunk in the forefoot, that'd be PERFECT. Also while the ankle collar is super plush, pretty much the whole rest of the upper & sidewalls is thin as fuck structurally with little ventilation. like its literally just a piece of suede wrapped around your foot with a thin layer of duracap in the toe area. Vans is a billion dollar company with the resources to make the best products possible. These are definitely solid shoes and if you already skate Vans you'll love them, but I can't help but feel like these shoes would be godly if they just had a little more padding all around, a heat transferred vans stripe (the stitching on these is already starting to peel), inner sleeves, and mesh sidewalls on the inside ala the G6's, Avex, etc. Still tho, I'm fucking with these and will skate them until they break down. Only time will tell how long or short that actually takes...

I remember the materials on those were a soft nubuck? I don't think any of them were made in suede?.

My friend skated in a pair and it tore up quick.

Best to save them up.

Just got these. As someone who has skated regular sb blazers, the gt blazers are definitely thinner...kinda like a vans authentic to an era... I can tell the gt's will last a fraction as long as the og's. They're definitely the better looking version though. I wouldn't pay retail for these if you're gonna skate them.
