Were you the same size in both? I've wanted to cop a pair of the Avex but I can't find them in any real stores.

Sorry if I didn't go back enough to find someone who is skating them, but could anyone give me a size comparison between the the Westgate CCs and his runner toe model?  I'm 10.5 in the runner toe and want to make sure a 10.5 in the CCs will work since I have to order them because no shops around me have them.
i'm interested in this as well, though i don't recall seeing anyone post about skating them yet. but the CC will probably be next shoe i purchase, too.

I saw a pair of the CCs at the shop and they seemed very thin. I know they are supposedly G6s but they didn't really feel like they were in the same class as the Herman, Reynolds, or Westgate Runner.

Also, if I recall correctly, the insole was one of those flat, glued in jobs - so I was more or less immediately disinterested.

me too.  normally wear a 9, but it's a 9 1/2 in Gatos.  they are quite cushy, and odds are there's tons at your local nike outlet

Damn, that sucks. I could have sworn that I read someone say that they just picked up a pair and they were super comfortable (maybe it was in the recently released thread?).  I'm not in dire need of new shoes yet, so maybe I'll hold out a little longer and check back in here and see if anyone has given them a shot before I order them.

Skating some booze's now too, really liking the flick but the tongue slip is messing with my mind so i sewed the tongue to the inner side, no more tongue slip! Also put some cardboard under the insole to feel them tighter since they got some extra room after breaking them in. I'm really OCD with my shoes i know...

soo, tried them on today. first impression: a lot lighter than they look, feel somewhat like a mix between the reynolds low and the westgate runner. insole seems like its not gonna be my cup of tea, but i`ll rip it out and replace it with footprint insoles as usual.
so i guess if you liked the westgate/reynolds/g6, you shouldnt be disappointed.

That's a great idea.

I've added an extra thinner insole before, but this would allow you to really dial it in, and the cardboard would still feel pretty normal..

Awesome, thanks.  Is the sizing the same as his runner toe (or the Herman G6)?  If so, I'll probably give them a try and just replace them with the runner toe insole since that one feels fine to me.

Currently rocking these I got at the Converse outlet for ten bucks.  The color way is pretty bad and I hate cup soles but ten dollars can't be beat.

I just took them out and took some pics for you to see how i done it.

I used some thin cardboard that has in the back of my notepaper and glued pieces were i wanted a snugger fit. They are assimetric because my right foot is a little smaller than my left one so i had a little extra layers on the right one. Also some layers on the arch to improve a little the arch support.
Thicker in the toes (4 layers) and the ball of the foot has just 1 layer (2 in the right foot).
They are a little trashed because of the sweat but the textile glued on top is holding everything together.
Its almost like a custom orthopedic insole ahahahah

Also how i do to make the tongue stay in place for anyone interested.

I use a needle with fishing line and tie it to the top holes of the inner side, it doesnt move anymore.

I'm really into DIY. All worked pretty well, the shoes fell snug but confortable, unlike if i bought a smaller size (i hate small shoes). Now they feel and skate perfect.

I love them. I'm not usually a light colored shoe guy. It's a risky move. These are great though. My only gripe, and it's a minor one, is that they're a little hot. Maybe when they stretch out a little more they'll breathe better.

first thing that came to mind was that the form of the toe was very similar to the romero laced, wich is a VERY GOOD THING!!!
