I have a small inventory of Lakai Howard to skate through. When they were closing them out I got a little carried away bc I loved them so much.  ;D Been skating the hell out of this pair recently. Damn shame they discontinued them.

**LAKAI HOWARD
[close]

those were the ONLY model of Lakai I ever liked ... and by liked, I mean they were really awesome.  was a great shoe.
[close]

Agreed Art. Totally a great shoe. Complete bummer they put a bullet in this one. I understand brands have to kill off shoes that aren't selling well, but it seemed like Lakai didn't keep these around long at all.

I once again totally agree with you guys. That shoe was so fucking good. I even got the ugly as shit brown mids because I couldn't let go of them. A pair never lasted me long at all but I loved them.

I'm planning on giving the NB PJ shoe a whirl. Anyone know how they fit? I'm usually a US 9.5 in a dunk, 10 in most DCs... I like a fairly wide mid foot section. Cheers in advance, I haven't seen NB out here yet. Thanks in advance.
[close]

I typically buy 11's (I bought the Vans Rowley Solo, Emerica Romero Laced, Busenitz Pro in 11) but found I probably need an 11.5 in the NB PJ. Wasn't overly tight, but I'd just prefer a little space over a little bit of tighness. These feel pretty accommodating to any width though
[close]

Will depend on whether it's a new/ old batch though. Apparently new batch #NBs fit true to size whereas the old bacth(es) required you to size up 0.5
[close]

Yes. When at Black Box sizing was fucked up, had to go .5 up. At times, sometimes full size.

But 2015 has a new factory and fit, and fits true to size. I asked them to send me samples shoe size 9 and they all fit proper. Just the 533 models.
[close]
I'm a 10.5 in dunks, I tried a pair of the Logan-S 636 in the grey/orange color way in size 11 and it was still too cramped in the toebox. Is that color way part of the new batch?
[close]

Yeah it is. For almost all the numerics I would wear an 11.5 instead of an 11 except the Brighton (but I do measure to 11 1/4 - yes I know the exact measurement)
[close]

Shit! I ordered 9.5s... Fingers crossed.

PJs arrived today in white and gum. I think I can just about get away with a 9.5 but would probably go 1/2 a size up in the future. They are quite soft so I figure they will stretch out a little. The sole reminds me a lot of the P-Rod ones. Hope they break in and loosen up! Look really nice.

I hate the fact that everytime i see those they look like the sole is smaller that the upper, the front of the outsole is always crooked to the inside and just looks crappy made to me. Also the toe box has a duracap so thick and hard that they feel like steel boots.

the sole isn't that small, it's average, but the front is shaped a little bit, the top bit of the sole is a little wider than the bottom, the only reason i can think of is for the flick i guess, the duracap is thicker than vans but i'm going to try and break them in before i judge that, at least they won't get floppy i guess? rippedlaces and weartested said they were good so i guess i'll be the judge to see if they are spitting bullshit or not.

The Nica's are a good shoe, I skated a sample pair and held up well. Only gripe with it was, I felt the midsole was too thick. Had to get sed to it. But after the toe area wore down, it was great.

Laces never ripped and grip didn't wear out much. And for $19. Can't really complain.

cool, the one thing i heard about dvs is the sole wears out pretty fast so thats nice to know, i really like the duracap because i know its not going to flop out on me.

Anyone tried the Supra Quattro ? Lucien Clarke is having an all black colourway coming and skating those all the time.
I like the cut, looks like a lower skate oriented Estaban (Stevie's 2nd pro-model) .
Never had any Supra, was wondering about the sizing/feedback on these. Thanks

They have the same sole as the avex, but the collar looks a little bit higher... They should skate similar. This two remind me of a low top skytop 3 which was a great skate shoe. You need to keep in mind that they are a thick cupsole, with great impact protection, so que if you like boardfeel and dont like break-in time they may not be for you.

Wearing Cons Weapons, been skating these Habitats

How do you like those etc insoles. I had the lo-pro ones too. Not sure I liked em much: After awhile of standing or skating in them my feet would feel pretty sore. They don't work for comfort in my opinion.

Well these habitats used to make my arches just a little bit sore after skating, but with these insoles that doesnt happen anymore. As far as comfort besides that, they just feel normal. Not like soft and comfy like the lunerlon in the weapons, but they don't feel uncomfortable to me at all. I haven't really used the insoles in shoes that I walked around all day in, so i wouldn't know about that.
I landed a trick primo the other day and it didn't hurt at all so the primo pad seems to work, ha.

Supra has upgraded their materials since the S1w. The soles last a lot longer now than they used to. I skated a pair of avex for nearly 2 months and the grip was still great, usually I wear through the grip first on every shoe I have

Back to skating my favorite shoes out in the market today, the NB# 533. Some sales sample color that I think are coming out in the future.

How I miss skating these. Slap on some FP game changers and you're good to go.

Was helping a friend clean out his garage, and stumbled upon these which were hidden away. I asked him why he never wears them, he said he wore them once and didn't like how they felt. Told me he never skated in them at all. I asked him if I could have them and he said "yeah, take em, I don't care". Came up on some free shoes which might as well be new, score!. It's like this waxed canvas material too, so they should be pretty durable.

Hate to burst your bubble, but unless it is backed with another material, waxed canvas isn't any more durable than normal canvas.

Consider my bubble burst.
Well, looks like I will be doing my usual go-to method for skate proofing canvas shoes then, which is shielding the ollie and flip areas with a wall of shoe goo.
Never skated a pair of waxed canvas shoes before, so I wasn't sure how durable they'd be, I just assumed.

They look like oiled suede ones from the picture but I guess you'd know better than me
When I first saw the shoes I thought the material looked really weird. All I saw was that it was coated in some shiny waxy looking material. My friend told me they were waxed canvas, so I just took his word for it and took them home, not having observed the shoe too much at all. After reading your comment, I took the shoes and decided to actually look at them thoroughly and it turns out they actually are suede. I seriously could not tell because the waxy coating on the outside (or "oil" as you said) really made it hard to tell what the material was if you didn't actually take the time to observe the shoe closely.

I just picked up some Authentic Pro's in all black.  Some people were asking if the add'l third layer would be under the toe bumper of the duracap, and I can confirm it is not.   Some also commented that the foxing comes up over the toe a little higher on the Pros, but to me they look totally normal like the regular authentics, just with a straight vertical end to the bumper rather than curved (could also be because I wear some bigger size 12s).  Also, can't confirm this yet because I haven't skated through them, but it really does feel like the duracap layer under the canvas comes all the way around to the ollie area (some were saying it doesn't).  Guess I'll find out after a couple ollies.
