didnt like the white/gold Away Days colorway of the Adi Ease, but dig the white leather.?

enter the white spray paint

How durable is that when you spraypaint?

as planned, the spray paint flakes off the sole and is easily removed from the leather itself with a cloth and some elbow grease. ? the paint does adhere to the gold-stripes and heel area well though. ? I'm sure itll come off the first stripe when skated, but to me, that'll still look better than the gold.

I was gonna use some of the plasti-dip instead of spray paint, but that stuff is better on suede - which soaks it up better, on leather, you can almost peel it off in one piece. ? I guess you could score the leather with griptape first... I dunno.

They look sick Art. Nice job.

To answer the above spray paint durability question...like Art said, it sticks to the upper really well, Outsoles not so much. I have a pair of Koston 2 grey/gum that I wanted to make grey/white. I spent a long time masking off the upper and taking my time prepping the hell out of the them. I scuffed the outsole and got them all painted them. They looked great at first. Within one hour of skating them they looked like shit. The paint flaked off really easily.

I know, cool story bro.  ;D

Skating the "Cal" colorway of the shoe sucked, since the swoosh was embroidered, it ripped off easily. Don't know why they did that.

I agree they were stiff at first, skated out of the box, and took a while to get used to it. Ended up putting them in the microwave soon after, they felt way better.

I know the Westagte runner (and even the CC, but not as much) have great support.  I don't remember the last time my foot felt more secure and I wore a pair walking all over during my vacation last summer and my feet felt way better than they should have after walking for 12-14 hours a day.
[close]

never got my hands on a pair of westgate runners- how is the heel lock on those? i shied away from getting them due to being so wide in the middle- i think they might not fit good. any info/ opinion on that? if it is not a problem i might grab a pair while  they are around!

on the matter of the westgate cc: really good and snug fit but the sole was not supportive at all.....only cupsole in a while that made my feet hurt while skating. the sole of the new laced even is more stable!
[close]

I haven't had any problems with heel lock.  Weird that you said they are wide in the middle.  They feel fine and consistent to me. Like I said, snug and supportive rather than constricting. But maybe I just have wide feet and have never realized it...
how is the sizing on the runners? I can only find them in 10.5 and 11.5 when I'm usually a size 11 so I'm for once hoping theyre not true to size haha

My shoe sizing is so fucked between brands. I've been skating 10.5 in all of the recent "higher quality" Emericas that I've had but I have worn 11 or 10.5 in a couple other brands.  I'd trust FirstBlood though since he sounds more confident in his foot size knowledge.

Anybody that's had the Emerica Figgys, how do they run? TTS or 1/2 size or full size down? I tried them in my regular size 9 (I'm 9 in Lakai) and the opening in the heel area is very wide, but the shop didn't have other sizes. I want to really stable heel lock and to rock them like slip ons.

True to size. As long as your heel doesn't lift when you walk and there's not much space for your big toe, you'll be fine. They're even better with they get kinda fucked up and broken in and feel like suede slippers, without any single pressure like most slip ons. I have an extra pair that I wear almost as much as all of my Air Max/Boost/Frees combined, if that's any input about the comfort. I did put HUF Cromer insoles in tho. That may also help you even more. The stock ones peel out if you wear them for a few hours. Fucking awesome shoes now that I think about it. I should get some more on sale.  (no laces ever btw. They look weird with them once you're used to the slip on style.)

True to size for me as well. And I too wore mine without laces and they were super-comfortable. I wore them all the way with the stock insoles and have no complaints. The only gripe that I had, was that I wore through the upper really fast, like first-session-fast in the ollie area. The kickflip area wore through fast as well but maybe my pair was made of bad patch of leather or something.

Good stuff as usual! Gotta love that collection. I've been skating in fake Superstars lately, it's making me want the real thing.

I'm wearing this for today, if only for the ankle support. Still haven't skated.

Shines in the dark. Cool, I guess?

i wouldnt recomend skating those dunk hi?s. ive got the same colorway and on my pair large pieces of the sole started breaking and chipping off. the sole also has zero fucking grip, worst sole ever. i guess thats the price for a translucent sole. they look sick when you remove the swoosh though.

I thought I was the only one to have the sole problem. The suede is also paper thin. I got an ollie hole in the first 3 hours of skating. But besides the grip and durability issues, they're still dunks and skate great in every aspect otherwise.

Sorry to keep going, but how is the grip on the matchcourts?  It's been a few years since I've skated Adidas but the ones I had always seemed to be to slick on the bottoms.... was hoping these were better?

Only one way to find out... but now I can totally see how it would behave on the griptape. The swoosh stays for now.

I know they're meant to be chillers but I've seen clips of people skating the Kalis Lites and know some people on here have bought them and I'm wondering what those people think of skating in them?
